Congrats Dude! Your go-to-guy-guide to being the greatest dad before her due-date. There are approximately 3,712 ways for a guy to look stupid during pregnancy - this book's here to help you avoid all(most) of them. And here's your first hint: Focus on what you can be doing for her rather than what's happening to her . She's pregnant. She knows that. You know that. And her 152 baby books tell her exactly what she can expect. Your job is to learn what you can do between the stick turning blue and the drive to the delivery room to make the next nine months go as smoothly as possible. That's where John Pfeiffer steps in. Like any good coach, he's been through it. He's dealt with the morning sickness and doctor visits, painting the baby's nursery and packing the overnight bag, choosing a name, hospital, and the color of the car-seat cover. All the while he remained positive and responsive - there with a "You're beautiful" when necessary - but assertive during the decision-making process (he didn't want to wind up with a kid named Percy). And now it's your turn. She might be having the baby, but you have plenty of responsibilities. Review: LOVED IT- Easy to read, informative, entertaining and helpful! - I can't believe there are so many bad reviews for this book. My husband and I both really enjoyed it. It is written in a casual, approachable style, but that's what I LOVED about this book. The book was easy to read (and therefore, we poured through it quickly), entertaining and helpful. It felt like a friend was delivering information, advice and encouragement- in a heartfelt, relaxed "Bro" sort of way. We also read TONS of other books, but reading those books was a chore (and I was often bogged down in obscure medical minutia that, statistically, I would never need to know, let alone worry about). We actually LIKED reading this one. I will preface this review by saying- I have a master's degree and my husband is a software engineer & computer programmer with a B.S. in Computer Science -- in reference to the other reviews for this book, we are not, by any means, "frat guys." This book tells you what you need to know and skips all the in-depth details on rare and obscure issues that probably won't affect you (stuff you could (and would, regardless of book contents) google if you needed to know), and zips right in to conveying what everyone will need to know. This book tackles topics and life changes that most of us secretly fear, and does so in an honest and down-to-earth, relatable way. This book also provides strategies for how to navigate the bumpy and fearfully paved road to parenthood. It's a great way to dive into the idea of becoming a parent (especially a father) and tackle the intimidation that accompanies the changing role to parent. Becoming a parent is stressful enough, why force yourself or your partner to stew over pregnancy books tantamount to the Illiad. Do yourself a favor and include this one in the line up. Trust me- it will help! Review: Great book - Great read

Go to gift for new dads. Purchased over 10 times
I bought this for my husband back in 2015 when we found out we were pregnant with our first child. He did not like to read at the time so I read it first to make sure that he would be able to make it through. The book was written by a man for men. It is hilarious, riddled with sports and nerd jokes, and the best part is real life practical things they can do throughout the pregnancy and what to expect. It literally spells out how to help the pregnant partner in the most mansplaining way possible. I buy this immediately any time some one tells us they are pregnant. There are so many books for pregnant women, but hardly any for men. This is an easy, fun, read and easy to apply.

Get this book if you’re going to be a new dad.
This book was really informative as a new dad expecting his first child. It’s loaded with clever quips and humorous tones. There were some typos in it I’m not sure if anyone else had that issue but still it’s a very good and relatively short read. I’d recommend this book as a starter for any new dads looking for literature on being a new dad.

Makes pregnancy fun for Dad's, too!
I bought this book for my husband shortly after we found out I was pregnant! As first time parents, I wanted to get a book that was enjoyable for him to read and not too textbook and serious, yet a book he would actually learn from. This book breaks down the different parts of pregnancy and puts it into "guy terms" using funny phrases and whatnot. We received other "dad to be" books as gifts, but this is the only one my husband actually reads and enjoys! He'll read me things I didn't even know and ask me questions like "are you experiencing this symptom yet?". Not only is it enjoyable to read, but it has a lot of good information. I highly recommend any first time dads to get this! Makes a great gift for a dad-to-be!

and covers pretty much every major pregnancy symptom and explains to the ...
This book is simply hilarious. I purchased this for my husband knowing he probably wouldn't read it, but he actually did. I know he only read it because it is hilarious ! I could hear him laughing while he was reading it so I had to read it too. This book is a must for expecting dads ! It is hilarious, blunt, and covers pretty much every major pregnancy symptom and explains to the dad how to deal with it. It covers life changes, pregnancy symptoms, emotional outbursts, and all the gross things that will happen. I only wish they could write one of these for the mom because I know there were many times while I was pregnant, hormonal, and an emotional nightmare that I could have used a good laugh !

Meh… a lot of frat bro language
My husband and I recently found out we’re pregnant and I got this book for him since there isn’t much out there for men. I like that this is an option because there are so many educational books and just books about pregnancy in general for women and almost nothing for men. My husband read it and stopped half way through because he couldn’t stand the writing style. I decided to give it a try to see what he meant, and I definitely understand why it was hard for him to finish. I think the author was trying to be relatable and it just didn’t come across that way. The language sometimes reminded me of a frat boy and that started to really bother me. I just wasn’t expecting that to continue throughout the entire book. I will give credit where credit is due, the book did have a lot of great information. Overall, it just wasn’t a writing style that we enjoyed which made it hard to read.

Good one. Covered essential information required for first time dads, from conception to post partum, in an interesting narrative. .

Good read for first time dad‘s
Bought this book for my son-in-law when we first found out, our daughter was expecting our granddaughter. He enjoyed the laughter it brought him. He also said it was kind of scary to read some of the things that were said in the book when becoming a new dad. We all had a chuckle about that. He shared it with a friend that is having a baby soon too.
