Good value. Saves time and money
Great value for what it does. We live in south Florida and we have a covered pool. But we maintain it ourselves and it was taking a lot of energy and money. We never had horrible algae but we had stubborn yellow brown algae that kept coming back and clinging to the side of the pool no matter how often we brushed it. Also the pool ate chlorine up and I was spending a lot of money on chemicals and personal time to clean and rebalance it. I will say the product took a good 2 weeks to clear it all up. But itโs been a few months and I barely have to adjust chemicals at all and the chlorine levels are a lot more stable. I put it in our poolโs filter basket. Maybe why it took longer to notice a big difference? And I will be rebuying it the second I need to. Still too early to tell if it will last 6 months or longer. โ-updateโ- Itโs lasted well over 6 months so far and itโs still going strong. I use maybe 1/3 of the chlorine I used to and my alkalinity and ph levels stay stable for longer as well. Havenโt seen a hint of algae growing in months. Iโm very impressed. I was initially wary of something that cost so much but it was worth every penny. My pool is crystal clear and stabilized.

Awesome Algae Prevention Insurance!
Very pleased with how this product is keeping me out of the Algae zone big time! I do add some non-chlorine bleach to oxidize the organic stuff, like leaves, dirt mainly, but sweat too if you didn't rinse off first. What you have to consider is how much CYA you have in your pool before because PoolRx requires just .5 to 1.5 ppm max chlorine or it begins to interfere this product. The nature of CYA is it needs to in balance with chlorine keeping your chlorine at 7.5% of the CYA as the minimum and 5 ppm max (like the start of the day). If you don't keep enough chlorine in the pool in conjunction with the CYA, the chlorine is less effective. I find over time the lack of chlorine actually reduced my CYA levels, they work in tandem. I'm guessing that without enough chlorine to kell bacteria, the bacteria deteriorates the CYA over time. Why I have no CYA after winter is over and I haven't added chlorine. Anyway, this isn't going to work right unless I can get that CYA down to about 20 ppm so 7.5% of chlorine is 1.5 ppm and compatable with PoolRx treatment. Right now I'm keeping manually put in about 2ppm liquid chlorine in the morning and it's gone or not active in an evening testing. But, I am not getting any signs of algae. Keeping pH 7.4-7.6 is so important too. The fact I am losing or the high CYA to chlorine factor my not release it to sanitize and I'm getting zero chlorine results end of the day is beyond believable. I will get the rest worked out, but I'm a PoolRx fan now. Update: Well it's been a couple of weeks now and I've had a chance to see how it's going to work long term. We are the thick of summer with consistent over 105 heat occassionally reached 110 and I've had a few days here and there I missed manually checking or adding chlorine. I had only been putting about 2 cups of chlorine in per day as the Pool Rx requires low chlorine levels of .5-1.5 max 2 ppm. So yesterday I added a half a gallon to give it a shock given I ran out of chlorine for a couple of days, but no sign of algae at all. No yellow on the walls as I would get before, either. I did add some non-chlorine to kill the organics, which helps too. My pH rose to 8, and my TA rose back up to 160, and my CYA has dropped too (less chlorine to bind to). I also got a metal test strip, and it's only .2 ppm, so I am good on that front too. No stains and hope no green hair, can't provide any info on that yet. I am just so impressed that I don't have the start of an algae bloom. I highly recommend this product to all pool owners unless copper is a problem for you, but I have a 10,000-gal pool, and the amount is minuscule

Pretty, Pretty, Pretty, Pretty Good.
I am planning to go away for a few weeks in August, so I thought I would buy this to help keep the pool clean while I'm away. My pool was clean when I put it in this morning. To my surprise, after about 3 hours of it being in the pool, my pool looks even cleaner. Very impressed so far, but will know more in subsequent weeks and at the end of August. So far so good. (Now, a few months later in a hot FL summer. NO ALGAE !! This is the first time in years where I did not get some signs of algae in the hard to circulate places. This product seems to work, and will buy it again next year.)

Yes , buy it!!!
I have been using this now for three weeks almost a month, and my pool has literally never been as clear and algae free. I have had to use no chemicals, except just for some floating chlorine tabs. Our pool is in the sun all day long and it was so hard to maintain shocking. Highly recommend.

Product is great.
Our pool had algae, but was not green in water. I placed into water basket, as direction stated. It also said to wait for 2 weeks to clean filter. After 2 days noticed water was very lean and clear. After 1 week noticed that water flow was not as strong so went out to check filter gage. It was almost into the red area. So I cleaned the filter. Filter was a pretty shade of light green. Cleaned and replaced into filter barrel. So you might want to keep an eye on filter gage. As I stated this produce works great. As far as how long it will last that is to come. Thank You Up date. Purchased in Aug. Lasted only 2 months in a 10,000 gal pool. the center went from blue to tan in 2 months. I will not buy again.

Solved my algae problem for now UPDATE to UPDATE to UPDATE
After 2 years of struggling year long with intractable algae, I drained my pool, pressure washed it and refilled so I could start fresh with Pool Rx. It has been 2-3 weeks of warm weather with solar heat now going and not a sign of algae. Plus, the chlorine stays in the pool forever (before it would disappear in half an hour). When I first installed this product, my pool turned as blue as the photo of the plastic mesh on the unit, but now it is the lovely pool color we all want. I've read you need to keep the chlorine levels below 1.0 to avoid plaster stains, so I'll do that and I've switched to a nonchlorine shock (monopersulfate) to try to keep CYA levels down. I am hoping this is the secret formula to avoid the horrible situation I've strugged with for so long. The cost of Pool Rx for six months is less than what I was spending on algae killer every single month! UPDATE: It has been almost 3 months since I installed PoolRx in my newly filled pool. A couple of weeks ago over-100 degree weather started and I started to get algae. Shocked the pool with monopersulfate, added Clorox and then made sure I had chorine tablets and now the algae is mostly gone, but the water is cloudy, there's light green on the pool walls, and I'm kind of wondering if I need to buy the refill. Along the way I discovered another problem: after about a month the silver ball inside the basket got completely clogged with palm tree seeds and it was nearly impossible to get apart. Once I did that and cleaned it, I wrapped it in a porous polyester fabric and that has helped considerably but it is still clogging. I have emailed this company using its "contact us" email address several times and they never reply, so we'll see what happens this time. I just called their 800# again and, like other times, it rang and rang with no answer, not even a machine. It was about 2:00 pm and I am in the same time zone as they are. Why bother putting contact information if nobody is going to reply? BAD customer relations! I find this really frustrating because I have been the most enthusiastic promoter of this product and just need someone to tell me how to tell if I need to recharge it already and whether I can put the unit in my skimmer basket instead of the pump strainer basket, which should help with the clogging. So, I have downgraded this company and its product from 5 stars to 3. UPDATE: It has been a week since I wrote this last update and got an email telling me, once again, to expect a reply to my question in 2 or 3 days. This company doesn't know how to do business with consumers, so it should only be selling through dealers. UPDATE: it has been 2 mod since they said they would get back to me with an answer, and I haven't heard a word. Meantime I used the refill I had bought for the fall shutdown and my pool is doing OK but I certainly can't spend $80 every 2 months, so I am going back to other copper-based algae control products. Maybe with metal inside the Pool Rx cartridge can still be used to generate ions or whatever it does. I am very disappointed in this product and its company! Downgraded to 1 star from 5 and then 3.

Wish I had tried this sooner
I was battling with horrible algae for weeks. I spent hundreds of dollars on what the pool store recommended. Nothing was working. I drained down added fresh water still didnt help. Someone on a pool board suggested trying pool rx. All I can say is I wish I had tried sooner. We have had a ton of rain by now the pool would have started to turn green. Its been crystal clear since adding this in.
