NOT NICKEL FREE!!!!!
So I’m in the process of gauging my ears. I had them gauged a long time, took them out to let them close for professional reasons. Well those reasons no longer exist so I started in January to resize them because my 2020 resolution is to be myself more and quit caring about others judgement. I’m at a 0g now (8mm). My ears remained very elastic and I haven’t had any issues until now.I was trying to make the first big jump (2g/6mm to 0g/8mm), which is the first 2mm jump your ears experience. My lobes didn’t want to take it. So I went to a piercer and asked if they had a 1g/7mm available that I could use to make the transition easier. They said “not on hand” but that I could order them and have them delivered. I asked what material they suggested (I generally use plastic with a balm because I have an extreme nickel allergy, which I informed them of). They pointed me to 316L steel which is the general recommendation. I’ve worn it before but not for long. When gauging you have to wear them at least two weeks to allow any micro-tears to heal.Well I ordered them and the transition went fine. I was at 1g for about a week when I realized how bad my ears itched. Now a subtle itch is normal through healing and the process, so I switched from cleaning them once a day to twice a day. Noticed how red they got and decided to look up what 316L steel contained. I’ve never been so disappointed in a piercer. When I called to ask about it again I apparently informed them of the nickel content and they apologized. I had to size down so my ears can heal but sometimes you need to trust your gut on things, which I didn’t do unfortunately. These are not nickel free and will cause a reaction.

Be careful using tapers, not recommended for long term wear
A taper is simply used for guiding jewlery into your hole. Not to be worn for everyday jewlery. With that said, this is a very good deal. You get a pair of tapers with a pair of tunnels. I used the tapers and there weren't issues & I wore the tunnels for a while & they are comfortable.

I’m happy I found these but the tunnels are not great quality
I am happy with the actual tapers. They are on the heavy side but that helps with the stretch. The issue and why I took away one star is the tunnel. The edge is sharp. It makes sliding it in the hole painful. That and the o rings that came with the tunnel are too small. I had to use the o ring from my 0g kit to hold it in place. All together I’m satisfied because there was no way I could go from 2g to 0g in one session. My advice is either leave the taper in for awhile or find a better quality tunnel. I personally didn’t like the weight of the taper and needed to get the tunnel in as soon as possible. Once the tunnels were in they are pretty comfortable. I just wish the edge was more rounded off, it would have made getting them in my tender ears easier. To work around it my boyfriend cleaned a sonic straw and the tunnel fit in it nicely. The pain of the extra stretch was worth not having to go through the stabbing pain of forcing them through my raw ears.

Wonderful Purchase, But With a Caveat
For such a cheap set of gauges, these feel incredible. They have a good heft to them, and they are steel, and have not irritated my ears at all. My skin is sensitive, so I am able to tell very quickly whether materials are suitable for skin or not, and this kit is gentle on skin. The tunnels are especially lightweight and comfortable, so I am extremely satisfied with overall quality. The one big problem I had was with the rubber bands that hold the gauges and tapers in place. When removed from the tapers/gauges, they are smaller than 7mm. I’m guessing this is to make the grip tight, but unfortunately that makes it almost impossible to get them back onto the tunnels or slip them on the front of the tapers. I had to use an old set of rubber bands from my previous set of gauges, which was for a 6mm set of plugs. The 6mm bands were bigger than the bands for these 7mm gauges/tapers. But other than this issue, I was incredibly satisfied with the purchase, and have been wearing them with no other problems for over a month.

Mismatched jewelry and tapers sizes
I bought the 9/16 set and was finally able to successfully stretch my ears after waiting for over 2 months for them to be ready . I got the taper through EASY! I went to put the tunnel in and it is 15mm instead of 14mm . The tunnel literally goes over the taper because it’s not the same size . So now I’m stuck with tapers in overnight until a store opens in the morning to go get the correct size tunnel or plug ( mind you these are 9/16 stainless steel tapers THEY ARE HEAVY)

Accurate.
This company is good at getting the correct product delivered. They are the only amazon company I have ordered body jewelry from that has labels on their bags.

steel>> acrylic
Genuinely LOVE the little card it came with. i was originally stretching with acrylic, but once i lost my 0g tapers i was happy i found an excuse to buy some steel tapers. i haven’t stretched up with them yet because i’ve been sick, however i’m very excited to finally size up with steel.

Posts too short
Product lost 2 stars because the post was extremely short. The longer the post, the easier the stretch it, so the stretch was uncomfortable and to be honest, unsafe. This product could’ve gotten 5 stars easily, but going by the picture, the posts look like they would’ve been longer and I would’ve been happy with that. Considering I purchased these exact tapers for the longer length, it was a bit of a waste. If you want long tapers too, look elsewhere

Perfect for what I needed
Was struggling to find a 1g set to use as a stepping stone to reach 0g after my ear reacted poorly to taping. This set has served its purpose. No irritation, even after having the tunnels in for about a month now.
