Pacific Drums Concept Series Black Nickel Over Steel Snare Drum, 6.5"X14" (PDSN6514BNCR)

All of the PDP drums I have purchased have been AMAZING. The quality is impeccable. The sound is outstanding. The price is unbelievable. My 7-piece PDP Concept Maple kit came with a 10-ply maple snare drum, but it is 5.5x14. I wanted a 6.5x14 steel snare drum. This black nickel finish is amazing and the drum sounds just like a steel snare drum should. Forget the Ludwig black beauty. Youcan buy 3 of these amazing PDP steel drums for the price of 1 black beauty.

Great little snare, alot better than the snare that came with the kit. Sounds great , snapping cracky and goes POP! I will probably order the 6.5x13 after this to add to my kit as well..

I received this beauty on my birthday. Out of the box, with the stock heads and a bit of tuning, it sounded great. Dry and articulate in the center of the head, wet and funky rim shot back beats towards the rim. I own a 6.5" Supraphonic that I adore. This snare is very similar in sound and response. And half the price. The throw off switch is superb. You have to operate it to really appreciate it. I like the double beaded shell. I feel that the double beads add rigidity to the shell. I am going install some Pure Sound snares shortly. Perhaps some other heads too, but for now I'm happy with the sound. One thing... it smudges easily. I have fingerprints all over it now.
