Lovely Under-$100 Fountain Pen!!
I've wanted a Kaweco because so many people rave about how smoothly they write, but my overall impression of their pens is that they aren't very attractive. While I view all my fountain pens as tools, ultimately I still like to enjoy looking at them. Enter the Kaweco Student Fountain Pen.I got the one that's cream-and-orange--called '70s Soul'. It's a much more classic shape, with a gold-colored nib, section, cap band, clip, and Kaweco logo jewel on top of the cap. The body is a lovely cream, with the slightest taper toward the end. The cap is orange, but not a bright orange. Definitely a 70s darker orange (but NOT burnt orange). I'm not a huge fan of metal sections, but this one isn't slippery despite being very shiny. For me, it's the perfect length and diameter. The nib is small--probably a #4--and gold-plated steel (I assume--no one would put a gold nib on a pen this inexpensive), and suits the overall aesthetic of the pen. Now, about that nib...Smooth as butter on a hot plate. It's just a lovely writer. I got the F nib because it's a German pen and didn't want a Western M writing experience. Not having my matching-color ink on hand yet (it's still in transit, darn it!) I turned to Caran d'Ache Chromatics Infinite Grey, which I have in a cartridge size that will fit this pen. It's an absolute dream to write with. The one drawback is that most of the cartridges I have on hand won't fit, and in my vast array of extra converters not a single one worked with this pen. It doesn't come with a converter, so I had to order one separately. For some, that might be an automatic 1-star downgrade, but I don't personally find that off-putting enough to downgrade an otherwise perfect pen.If you want to try a well-made, nice-looking fountain pen that's around $55 that will give you an amazing writing experience, I highly recommend the Kaweco Student.

Very good pen
I greatly enjoy this pen. It is a good size for people with larger hands, the ink flows well, and the pen writes smooth. I bought the extra fine nib version but the nibs for most Kaweco products are interchangeable and it works with my Kaweco Sport Nibs

by far the best pen for the money I've ever bought
Took a long time to get here since I ordered it from Germany... but it's by far the best fountain pen for the money I've ever bought. What attracted me to it was how flexible this pen was in terms of calligraphy. It's one of the few "affordable" pens with an endless number of quality nibs (most fountain pens don't have a Italic nib option which drove me to try this). I wanted something fancy with Italics and I got what I wanted at the best possible price. It writes like heaven. I've done extensive research and for a weird reason pens with Italics are either extremely cheap and for kids (like the Schaffer ones) or very expensive (+$150). This one was my happy medium since I use it for my signature and I'm not in the Montblanc range of wealthy ;). I also have the eternal Pilot which is very nice but it only comes with a fine nib (the regular nib is still super small).Feels like a much more expensive pen and writes like one.

So beautiful!
This pen is so beautiful! The weight is nice in the hand. Writes really well. It was deleivered earlier than expected so that was nice. The only thing I’m a little frustrated with is that the product description I saw did not indicate that it came with and empty cartridge nor one with blue ink (could have looked over it), I could have saved $18 on buying a converter.

Lovely pen...
...but packaging was below par. I bought this as a Christmas gift and the recipient loved it, but for the price it could have come in a box instead of just rolling around in a plastic bag.

A Beautiful Fountain Pen Pays Homage to An Era of Soul & Student Pens
Koweco is highly recognized in the fountain pen world, but I love this pen far more than its more famous pocket pens. I love the faux ivory combined with a bright color. The pen is far more aesthetically pleasing than I even hoped. My review would be more complete, but I have not yet inked it up to see if it writes as well as I expect it to write. If you know anything about fountain pens, I think this is an excellent pen at the price.

Pen constantly gets clogged
I really wanted to love this pen because an artist I really admire recommended this model and when I saw it available in this clear design I hopped on it! Unfortunately, I can't say it's been a great experience. When it works it works great, but when it doesn't, which is most of the time for me, it is such a pain and struggle. Nothing sucks more than having your stream of thoughts or drawings being interrupted by a pen that's no longer producing any ink. I've had to soak and unclog the pen multiple times and have probably used it twice. What irks me is the price of a pen like this and the reputation that this brand holds, I would expect it to work more than not. I'm not new to calligraphy pens, but even my cruddy speedball pen doesn't get clogged nearly this much. For the price I paid it shouldn't get clogged at all in my opinion. I'm going to keep trugging through since I also bought more ink for this pen. Also when I received my pen, the blue ink it originally came with had exploded in the container so I had to clean out the entire pen and plastic shell which was very frustrating and messy LOL.Anyways, beautiful pen, wish I was having a better time using it.Edit: Somehow this review made the pen work even less. For $64 that's crazy. Going to try the Lamy Fountain pen for a fraction of the price and see if it's any better. At least if it doesnt' work it wasn't an over $50 pen lol.

Schreibt hervorragend sauber. Die Feder kratzt kein bisschen.
