Love it for the price, the only thing that bothered me is that the latch to close it came rusty.

Great chess set. Portable, magnetic, wood, great price but our hinge is off and it never folds open flat =(

I love to play chess on a big tournament size chess mat and set but in a crowded house during the holidays you are not always afforded the room. This set is just the right size and if you have to move the board to another room the pieces are magnetic and stay in place.

This gift has been a gift for my nephew and he loves it! Well made. Beautiful wood to display on a table. Neat and easy to store.

This chess set is very nice except that ours also came with mold on several of the pieces, just as described in the other one-star review. Thus, we are returning it.Otherwise, the board is beautiful, the pieces have a nice magnetism and overall good feel, and the board folds up nicely for travel with the pieces nicely tucked away in their individual storage locations.There are a couple downsides in additional to the mold that are worth mentioning:1. In the set we received, the board doesn't seem to fully open, such that the board would be slightly bowed during play.2. This is probably minor to most people but important to me: the grain of the wood on the squares is parallel to the imaginary line passing through the players. In my opinion, this feels awkward: the grain of the wood should be perpendicular to the imaginary line passing through the players.

So excited to receive, but when I opened box chess pieces and felt interior covered with extreme furry mold that penetrated the wood and felt! I’m returning and reordering (thank you Prime!) and hope that next box comes back mold-free in time for our camping trip in a few days. OTHERWISE: It is well-built, and don’t want to purchase another option. Will update upon receipt of new set. Fingers crossed…

Christmas gift for my son. He requested this for Christmas and was so disappointed to open it to mold all over. See pictures!If it weren’t for the mold, it would be awesome!
