Vault V300 Hard Case (Camera, Pistol, Gear, Equipment)

I couldn't find a good case with precut foam that would fit my 6" revolver, so I decided to give a try to this case that goes with two thick inner layers of foam. It took some practice to get the cuts reasonably straight, but I managed to do it with just a utility knife. Maybe this helps someone, the trick was to remove the blade and use it by hand without the handle. I tried to make cuts that didn’t go all the way through, leaving a solid bottom for padding with the lower layer. The v300 case fits 4 full size pistols and magazines pretty well. I like Pelican cases for their build quality and thoughtful design. The latches are surprisingly ergonomic and satisfying to use. The higher price tag is well worth it.

High quality. Don't be fooled that these are made by Pelican, but the price is reasonable. They're still very durable and well sealed. Unless you're going to chuck them out of moving vehicles or something they're about as good as the more expensive ones only a little lighter. Best overall value in my opinion. I don't want the extra weight nor do I need more durability than what these have.

Due to a recent theft, this was a perfect replacement computer test equipment needs. Cutting the foam is very simple.

This I a solid lower cost case that I totally trust my camera, lenses and accessories in. I'm just a weekend photographer so it suits my needs perfectly. It will keep my gear dry in a light rain, protect it from a tumble, and keep the dust out on a dusty road. What it won't do... is is stay dry inside on a rafting trip, keep a raging sandstorm out or give the needed protection when being "dropped in by helicopter" somewhere. But if your just looking for a solid camera case I recommend this case. The foam padding is easy to customize however your need, and holds everything secure (weekend warrior secure). If you need a tougher more secure case Pelican makes them, but that level of protection will cost more.
