Makes oil changes easy!
I've done my own oil changes on all my vehicles for years now. I always did it the usual way, on my back underneath the vehicle with an oil drain pan. Always with hot oil running down my arm and usually making some kind of a mess, not too bad but still a mess. Good times! I recently bought a new (used) truck and of course wanted to do an oil change first thing. When I got underneath I found the oil pan drain plug had been overtightened and stripped from some previous attempt to get it out. Not a huge problem, and I will fix it one of these days (I swear!), but it inspired me to try a different approach, so I ordered this oil extractor. It's pretty straightforward to use. Plastic tubing goes down the oil dipstick tube, pump the handle and it sucks the oil out. I was concerned with it being able to extract all the oil from the pan, so I measured the oil that came out. The oil capacity of the vehicle is 8.5 quarts, and that's what I measured. Very little if any oil left in the pan. I had to empty the unit halfway through because it only holds 4 liters, but that was easy enough. This really makes oil changes quicker and easier, and so much less messy. I've also used it for transmission fluid when it was accidentally slightly overfilled. I'll be using it for all my oil changes from now on. Recommended.

Best Invention Ever
I can't believe how easy and fast I changed my riding lawn mower oil with this awesome product. I love that there is no mess at all. I'm a 65 y/o woman who was very intimated at the thought of changing oil but after using this product, my worries are over.

It "sucks" LOL [play on words]
Works as designed, pump is very smooth, and works. I recommend using it for waste oil and any other liquids. If you use gasoline, diesel, kerosine etc., have one strickly for that. No need to clean out or flush the waste one, just transfer to proper recycling container.

It Sucks Gas Too
Although it is marketed as an "Oil Extractor" I bought to remove the gas from my small engines. Even with Stabil, I prefer to not leave gas in an engine stored during the off season. I previously used a baster to suck the gas out, but this was always a messy job resulting in spilled gas. With the B&S OE I can remove the gas from all the small engine tanks, pour it back into the gas can without making a mess or spilling gas. The handle and the pour spout, which is smaller than my gas can fill hole make transferring the gas easy. Although it has a clamp that is supposed to pinch off the hose, so a vacuum can be developed, I was not successful using it. It is easy enough to just pump a few time to get the fuel flowing. I saw some YouTube videos of guys making their own suckers. Several used a shop vac to develop the suction. Although the fuel or oil does not go into the shop vac, it is likely the fumes do, and it is the gas fumes that can explode. I definitely do not recommend using a shop vac. Besides the danger these same fumes may soften or melt the plastic in the shop vac.

Sadly not worth the money - and oil spilled all over garage
I really wanted a way to 'easily' get oil out of my Toro 22" Recycler with a Briggs & Stratton engine. The product works sort of but not really. Heated up the mower to allow oil to flow easily. It did not and we finally switched to tipping the mower on it's side to drain and change the oil. I was planning on returning the Oil Extractor after bringing the used oil to a center. Missed the window of time to return it. Sadly the device ALSO does not seal well and oil got spilled all over in my garage before disposing the oil. I am only happy that DIDN'T happen in my vehicle on the way to dispose of the used oil. So wish I had my money back. Really wanted it to work. Certainly doesn't work like on the video. Now my $ is gone and my garage is damaged.

Does the job fast and neat.
I had previously received and returned a different, less expensive and less substantial oil extractor pump from Amazon because of its less than stellar design. I next ordered the Briggs & Stratton 5431K Oil Extractor Pump, 4-Liter. I finished cutting my yard with my walk-behind lawnmower and let it cool down for a couple of minutes. I inserted the hose in the dipstick receiver tube and began pumping. It started extracting oil on the first pump and I had pumped out the oil in about the next 20 or so pumps. I next raised the front of the mower to force any remaining oil toward my host and in a few more pumps, got all remaining oil out of the mower. Next I poured out the oil from the extractor into a plastic bottle that I will use to take the oil to my city's oil disposal site. This thing worked faster than expected and did the job with no mess. I totally recommend it.

Great oil removal tool!
Used this to remove oil from my Yamaha jet boat motors. I have read that some people found it slow to pull the oil out. I poured gas stabilizer in my tank and filled it at the marina, thenIt went on a 10 minute ride. I had the boat on plane and worked it up to full throttle when warmed up. Went to the dock and vacuumed the oil out in a blink, it only took a few minutes per engine. The outside temp was in the upper 60's and even so, the oil flowed out smooth and quick and don't forget...neat! No mess, easy to use, with the translucent material you could see the level easily in the jug and it was very easy to tell when you had gotten to the bottom of the oil sump. When I started sucking air...i pumped the handle some more and moved the draw tube around to try to get every last drop. Easy to use, compact, simple design that if cared for, should last for years. If you are thinking about this or electric pump...just buy this, save our money and start doing your snow blower, gas mower oil changes with ease.

Perfect for oil changes on 4 stroke equipment
Used for my lawn mower, and 4 stroke trimmer. Quick and easy, with no mess! Works best when pump is bellow the oil tank, soo keep on floor level. Did not fit in my 4 stroke blower but that was very easy to tip and empty. Also takes barely any oil.
