Briggs & Stratton 5431K Oil Extractor Kit - Genuine OEM No-Spill Pump for Mowers, Tractors & Generators, 4.0-Liter Capacity

I've done my own oil changes on all my vehicles for years now. I always did it the usual way, on my back underneath the vehicle with an oil drain pan. Always with hot oil running down my arm and usually making some kind of a mess, not too bad but still a mess. Good times! I recently bought a new (used) truck and of course wanted to do an oil change first thing. When I got underneath I found the oil pan drain plug had been overtightened and stripped from some previous attempt to get it out. Not a huge problem, and I will fix it one of these days (I swear!), but it inspired me to try a different approach, so I ordered this oil extractor. It's pretty straightforward to use. Plastic tubing goes down the oil dipstick tube, pump the handle and it sucks the oil out. I was concerned with it being able to extract all the oil from the pan, so I measured the oil that came out. The oil capacity of the vehicle is 8.5 quarts, and that's what I measured. Very little if any oil left in the pan. I had to empty the unit halfway through because it only holds 4 liters, but that was easy enough. This really makes oil changes quicker and easier, and so much less messy. I've also used it for transmission fluid when it was accidentally slightly overfilled. I'll be using it for all my oil changes from now on. Recommended.

Very easy to pump oil from small engines

The Briggs & Stratton Oil Extractor Pump is easy to use and efficient in getting oil out of your snow blower or lawn mower when you need to change the oil. It eliminates the mess of any oil getting on your garage floor when trying to change the oil. The one point that needs mention is that you have to tip your mower or snowblower completely on its side to get adequate suction from the oil extractor pump. All in all, the Briggs & Stratton Oil Extractor Pump is an inexpensive and efficient way to remove oil from your lawn mower or snow blower without any mess.

This worked fine for me,extracting the oil from a Honda HRX217 lawnmower. It took very little time and effort. No spills, no problems. The only issue I have is there are no hash marks on the collector bottle to tell you how much volume you have recovered. So you aren't sure if you got it all. But afterwards, doing a rough calculation based on the volume of a cylinder, I'm confident I got within a few hundredths of a quart of the capacity of my Honda out of there. And that is excellent. Now, what I will do, and what everyone should do before they use this, is (1) note the oil capacity of the engine you are going to use it on; (2) measure out a volume of water equal to that capacity; (3) pour the water into the empty collector bottle (NOT into your engine); (4) make a Sharpie mark at the water line and note which engine it is for. (Then don't forget to pour out the water.) If you have several engines, you can make several marks--there is plenty of room for marks. That way, when you pump oil out, you'll have confidence you emptied the crankcase.

The pump was used to remove oil from my lawnmower successfully and I will use again later in the year.

I'm not very mechanically inclined, so when I started mowing my own lawn after I bought my house, I needed to find a way to start changing the oil in my lawn mower. I know that I could use the drain plug in my push mower, or turn it on its side, but I was worried about making a mess, and decided to find an easier way. After doing some research on online and on YouTube, I discovered this product. At 1st I was worried that it would not work or that it was a gimmick tool, but I used it for the very 1st time last night. And I changed the oil in my push mower in around 30 minutes. It was quick, it was easy, and there was very little to no mess made. The only thing that I was worried about after I started is that when I was pumping up the pressure, and put the tube into the oil, and released the valve, it did not immediately suck up the used oil. But I was happy to find that once I started pumping, the used oil readily came out. Now that I know how to use it, I plan to buy this for my dad and father in law. They are mechanically inclined, but I think that they will appreciate not having to get the blocks out and putting their riding mowers up just to change the oil.

I have a high end major brand lawn mower that I just bought with a B&S engine. The maintenance manual said to change the oil, tip the mower on it's side and let the oil drain out the oil filler tube. Try and do this into a drain pan. Good luck. Bought this Oil Extractor pump after doing some online research. This is the cats meow. Stick the hose down the filler tube, give it a couple of pumps, oil gets sucked into the tank. Worth every penny.

I must admit that I was skeptical about how much oil this little pump could remove from the top fill of my Briggs and Stratton 625e (Poulan Self Propelled Lawnmower). However, I was pleasantly surprised with both the ease of pump setup and the effectiveness in removing the old oil. From start to finish the entire process couldn't have been more than 15 minutes. Great tool for servicing your lawn mower or any other small combustion engine powered equipment. Highly recommend!

Used this to remove oil from my Yamaha jet boat motors. I have read that some people found it slow to pull the oil out. I poured gas stabilizer in my tank and filled it at the marina, thenIt went on a 10 minute ride. I had the boat on plane and worked it up to full throttle when warmed up. Went to the dock and vacuumed the oil out in a blink, it only took a few minutes per engine. The outside temp was in the upper 60's and even so, the oil flowed out smooth and quick and don't forget...neat! No mess, easy to use, with the translucent material you could see the level easily in the jug and it was very easy to tell when you had gotten to the bottom of the oil sump. When I started sucking air...i pumped the handle some more and moved the draw tube around to try to get every last drop. Easy to use, compact, simple design that if cared for, should last for years. If you are thinking about this or electric pump...just buy this, save our money and start doing your snow blower,gas mower oil changes with ease.

This is a great procuct for my garden machinery use. i have only used it the once and its sold of construction. Very easy to assemble and even easier to use. I can see this product is going to get years of use if i look after it. Gets a 5 star rating from me. Very happy with my purchase :)

Perfect product for what it does. These newer mowers dont have a drain plug. Tipping them over works, but I’d rather use this oil extractor. I use it for changing oil on my mowers and power washer. Works extremely well and so easy use to use.
