Works as described, perfect fit!
I was a little apprehensive in buying this unlighted doorbell because of the negative reviews. I took a chance since it was so inexpensive. Many had said the doorbell comes apart when you loosen the screws for the connection. I had no such issues. This doorbell was manufactured well. I can’t understand the negative reviews, either they are inept or just can’t do DIY stuff. This was so easy. Just loosen the screws enough for the wire leads to wrap around then screw tight. I don’t know about it falling apart, but even IF you removed the screws (which I didn’t) I can’t see how it would come apart. Once both leads are connected, I folded the flanges so they could fit in the hole, and tested it beforehand. It works perfectly. The finish on the brass is shiny and bright. My old doorbell was metal, but this one is plastic with shiny brass finish. Looks really good. See pictures of the old and new. Looks great and priced right! Super easy to install.

👍🏻
Easy to install. Works like it should. It's kinda janky. I was limited on option as doorbells w/out cameras are hard to find and this was the exact duplicate of the one I was replacing. What do you want for $10?

Cheap and easily breaks
I do not recommend getting this product. It was very shoddily made, and easily came apart. The inner plastic portion easily became undone from the small metal prongs holding it together, and could not be reattached. The result is that the stress of pressing the button caused the item to fall apart.

Worked perfect for my project
I have an electric gate across my driveway with typical bulky, ugly garage door type remotes. I wanted to have a few spots in the house to be able to open the gate, so we extended the original wiring in the living room over to the front door (luckily, I have open ceilings in the basement). I didn't want the ugly wired garage door remote, so I found a decora faceplace for coax, got this doorbell and took it out of the brass surround. Installed that into the coax hole, and was able to add the button in the same triple switch faceplate and my light fixtures. The tricky part was that the solution needed an UNLIT door bell button which you can't find in the hardware stores. This worked perfectly.

it does not light up
Wired up easy enough but it was suppose to light up. It did not have any wiring to do so and too much of hassle to return, plus it was already installed.

WOW!
Really, how excited can you get over replacing a doorbell button? I was looking for cheap (yeah, I loved the frog and lizard buttons on Amazon, but wasn't willing to pay that price for a doorbell). So, what did I get? At first look the brass plate looked pretty cheap and flimsy. But,, I hooked it up, and golly gee it looked pretty good. The lighted push button is more than bright enough on every night. I waited to write this review to see if this button really held up. It sure does. Before I installed this button, the doorbell was not real apparent to someone walking up to the door. As a result the UPS and FedEx people would knock on the door. Now, they ring the bell. So... I guess I made a good purchase.
