Works Well for Assessing DTR's
I'm a medical student and bought this hammer to use as part of my Neurologic exam on patients to assess deep tendon reflexes (DTR's) and sensation. At 8.5" long, it's much larger than I was expecting, but the handle is ergonomically designed to allow for excellent arc for proper DTR assessment and the hammer overall is relatively light weight for its size compared to other reflex hammers I've used. I was especially excited that this hammer comes with a brush tip and pointed/sharp tip for sensation assessment. However, the bristles on the brush are VERY sharp and cannot be used to assess soft touch sensation unfortunately - it left scratch marks on my arm. The sharper attachment, on the other hand, is ideal for assessing sharp sensation, particularly because it is not solid but rather has some give to it to prevent injuring my patients. The blue head tips on this hammer are soft yet firm enough to be able to assess DTR's without hurting my patients (much better than my previous triangle head hammer that is made of very hard rubber). I really like the larger head with a more flat shape that comes on this hammer (see pics), because it is ideal for assessing patellar reflexes. The smaller heads are perfect for assessing DTR's in areas such as the bicep and achilles tendon. This hammer did not come with any sort of instructions, which was frustrating when I was trying to figure out how to remove the brush attachment. (Be careful - I cut my finger on the metal underneath the blue tip while trying to figure it out.) I also have no idea how to use this hammer as a massage tool. I tried lightly tapping my back with it, but ended up triggering muscle spasms rather than getting any therapeutic benefits. (I have an old muscle injury in my back and suffer from chronic muscle spasms.) I also couldn't find any instructions online either through google or YouTube, as the only search results I got were for hammers that were either electric or had an infrared feature. For now, I will use this hammer to assess DTR's and sharp sensation on my patients. I do like that the hammer is easy to clean to ensure appropriate infection control standards.I received this product at a discounted price or free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Beautiful hammer, solid construction, great for self massage!
I was impressed by quality and construction of this little hammer. The handle looks and feel like 3D printed plastic, very light weight but not cheap feeling. The hammer head is much heavier and dense and made of well polished metal. I found that I was able to spin both sides and it made a clicking noise like a torque wrench. I suspect this is so you can rotate the tip to readjust the orientation of the tip in case it is not symmetrical. The dense heavy head really adds to the massaging ability of this hammer. I used it on my neck and back and felt instant relief. I use the computer at work a lot so this hammer definitely will help with neck cramps.Thee hammer comes with a small attachment and a chisel attachments as well as some replacement attachments, 2 small, and 2 big round ones. Each attachment really feels different. My favorite for hitting sore knots underneath my shoulder blades is the chisel attachment but there is only one. Regardless, I suspect all attachments will last a long time though.I would definitely recommend this hammer as a gift for the elderly (caters to the Asian crowd), use alone for your yourself, or for use with your SO. I've been tapping away on my back as I'm sitting here on my computer! Fun desk toy.Disclosure: I received this item for review through a promotion and have taken into consideration the price of the item when writing this review.

Great for relieving muscle tension.
It seems every night my husband or myself need some tired, sore muscles rubbed, so when I saw this I had to give it a try. This uses a recessed oval non-slip design, and the hammerhead can convert 360 degrees. It is made of non-toxic natural rubber imports of construction steel with high toughness. It is good for breaking down muscle tension and stimulating circulation. The back of the clinic hammer uses recessed oval design making it easy to slide. The diagnostic hammer tail has hidden the probe, you can pull a pull or it can be used to test the skin perception. The Boshi home massage hammer is very lightweight and it has two ends, a rounded end and one with a more firm, straight edge and it comes with replacement pieces for the ends. It is compact in size and the tip of the hammer is soft. It is portable enough to take with you when you are going away from home. This is very good for breaking down muscle tension and stimulating circulation. My husband and I have gotten into a routine of using this on each other every night. It really relieves a lot of tension in each of us.I received this product to use, review and to give my honest opinion about it.
