This is a great tool for explaining what a gingival "pocket" is, disease progression of decay and overall tooth anatomy. Was great for dental hygiene school and now for clinical use! Plus its a fun nick-nack and conversation starter.

I teach human biology online to students age 7-12. This model is perfect for that purpose. I use a document camera for drawing, writing, and showing models and it's easy to make it pretty dramatic by showing the good side and then at the appropriate place in my narrative, I flip it over to show the cavities and the children gasp. I also have the full tooth model (seen in the photo) and the kids love learning to count their teeth. Add in my kids' baby teeth, including a couple that had to be pulled so they have the roots still attached, and there's an hour of dental fun and learning!

Great Model. Hard to tell from the pics but there is no space between the teeth. It would be awesome if there was but still satisfied.
