Let down abroad
I heard about how good these shirts are for traveling, so I bought two in anticipation of my honeymoon in Japan. The shirts were comfortable to start, if slightly smaller than expected for the size. After one day walking around Kyoto with a small hiking backpack, however, I took my shirt off at the end of the day to find that the parts that had been in contact with the backpack (through a North Face rain jacket shell at the beginning of the day, and through direct contact for the rest of the day) had become completely pilled and rough in three large and extremely visible patches around the shoulders and base of my back. The backback was nothing special; the main panel that was making contact with the shirt was just some basic mesh and padding. I wasn't doing any kind of ridiculous strenuous activity or running, just walking around.Needless to say, I'm extremely disappointed, as I can no longer wear this shirt as-is without these obvious rough patches showing. I was planning to use them at the gym upon return to the US, but now one of the two will be forever relegated to basic undershirt status. I really expected more for the amount of money I paid. As for what caused this issue, I can't say; maybe it was a result of the diamond-weave of the shirt making contact with the mesh of the backpack. This isn't an issue I've had with any other shirt, however, including the other Give-n-Go tee I bought.Other than this issue, the shirt is fine; the quick drying and moisture wicking both held up to ExOfficio's claims. These are both qualities available in other shirt brands, though, and as such I cannot in good conscience recommend a $40 shirt that has a possibility of being ruined through a simple activity one would be readily expected to do while traveling, especially when travelers are their main marketing demographic. Also worth noting, as another reviewer did: if you're tall, don't expect this shirt to stay tucked in, if that's how you prefer to wear your shirts. The shirt's material and length cause it to come untucked extremely easily. Eventually I just gave up tucking them in.

Comfy but flawed
First, I love the feel of this shirt. It is extrememly comfortable and fits well. It really can be washed in a sink and dries overnight for wear the next day. However, for $40 dollars I do not expect the fibers to deteriorate so quickly. I have this shirt for just a few weeks and have worn it 5 times at the most. I haven't mistreated it and followed the washing directions. I am sadly surprised. Also, the collar is becoming mis-shapen, so it looks bad around the neck as an undershirt. I want to give it 5 stars. But I want my money back more. For this price, I think we can do better elsewhere. Sorry Ex Officio. I feel bad, but see my photo.

Pros: Breathable, lightweight Cons: premature wear is really disappointing
I bought 10 of these shirts. The reason I bought these shirts is they breathe better than cotton and they seem to resist smelling bad better than cotton. I’ve updated my review today, 2-3-2021.Pros:They’re great for exercising, doing yard work, and as pajamas.Cons:The material is thin. Some guys may think it is a feminine looking shirt because of the way the thin material sits on your torso. Not a good shirt for chubby people. It shrinks when you wash it. I bought XLs which fit great but after one wash they have shrunk down to a fitted L size.Edit: These products do not seem durable. All of my exoffico items have worn very poorly. I also have 10 pairs of their boxer briefs and they are all in poor condition. I will not buy any more of their products. I bought them specifically because of online “reviews” suggesting that Armed Forces folks wear them and that they’re the highest quality. All I see now is clever marketing. They’re among the poorest quality clothing items I’ve bought, and if a guy with a desk job has ruined them sitting around the house or doing mild exercise, I can’t image they’d hold up under more severe atmospheres.

Best undershirt for work
Nothing beats these shirts for wearing under a dress shirt for work. The V-neck isn't visible in case you aren't wearing a tie. Your colleagues will never see an embarrassing sweat stain on your dress shirt again. The waffle-weave will keep you cooler in summer than if you wore the dress shirt alone. Keep an eye out for frequent sales when the shirt sells for as little as $20. Unlike similar Under Armour shirts that are now made skin-tight, this shirt drapes comfortably over the torso, but not too loosely.

Great undershirt
My husband only uses this as an undershirt. It started with layering for hiking and moved into an every day thing. And it works for him. His shirts last longer and he’s more comfortable. Who am I to argue with that? Since these seem to be made with the exact same fabric their boxers are made from it makes good sense to use them that way.On to the pros and cons. They are extremely light weight, breathe very well and are in no way binding. They’re long enough to tuck in, but no so long as to be longer than most shirts for non-tuckers.The only real downside is that the sleeves are a little long for some short sleeved shirts, which my husband wears even in the winter, such as it is. Other than that, he couldn’t be happier.I hope this is helpful to someone. Thank you.

My go-to undershirt
This is literally the only undershirt I wear when I don't want the undershirt to show (in other words, when I'm not wearing some sort of contrast-color crew neck T-shirt under a button-down shirt). It's amazing the difference this shirt makes versus the "regular" cotton undershirts: I don't constantly feel hot and sweaty when I wear this one. And no, I'm not a huge guy who sweats a lot anyway; I'm on the slender side. These wash and dry well, too, and for travel they are ideal because they are lightweight and take up almost no space in your luggage.Love these!

Size matters
This is one of the smallest XXL shirts I have seen - especially around the midsection. Fabric felt interesting, but the shirt was unwearable. May be suitable for a tennis pro, but not your average Joe.

Worked fine
These pack very small, are comfortable enough, and dry, when washed in the sink, overnight...best if you have a radiator or a heated towel rack...or are in a fairly warm climate. I used to take seemingly a bushel of cotton undershirts for a two week stay in Europe. Four or five of these fit in the carry-on suitcase without taking up any appreciable volume.
