The PoE Texas IEEE 802.3af 12V Splitter converts standard PoE (44-56V) into a stable 12V DC output delivering 12 watts of continuous power, while simultaneously providing gigabit Ethernet data. Designed for non-PoE devices like IP cameras, media players, and Arduino projects, it supports all major PoE switches and injectors, extending power and data up to 328 feet with active opto-isolated protection for device safety.

WORK WITH FOSCAM
I am using this with foscam G4 camera. I recently added a POE switch to my network. I have 8 foscam cameras. This is a great adapter to no longer have to run a seperate power cord to the camera. Since this G4 older camera does not normally do POE this adapter allows you to run a POE line and with using the adapter you can bypass the power supply. Makes it easier to just run a single ethernet line.

Works at 2.5Gbps
I used this with a Ubiquiti Unifi Dream Router 7 (UDR7) which as a single 15W PoE port. All the ports on the router are remappable, so I remapped it from a LAN to a WAN port, in order to power my fiber modem/ONT. My fiber modem is a DZS/Zhone 5302, which has a spec sheet of 16W Maximum, but the UDR7 says it is pulling 5W. With this adapter, the UDR7 is able to negotiate at 2.5Gbps, just as it was before using the adapter. I verified via a speedtest on the router that my download speeds are still >1Gbps (I have a 1000/1000 Fiber plan, but they over provision and I ususally get 1100/900 on router-based speed tests). I had tried a similar looking PoE splitter that is listed as 2.5Gbps capable, and 12V@2A, and I was unable to get the ONT to power up on the UDR7. The power light strobed very quickly and the ONT would not come online. That adapter did work to power the modem when connected to my 8 Port POE Flex 2.5GB Switch by Ubiquiti, but I would have then required a convoluted vlan routing setup for my WAN into the UDR7 (which would've been fine if Ubiquiti allowed VLAN as WAN, rather than having to break it out via ethernet first).

Ground-isolated 802.3af Gigabit PoE Splitter with Type A Barrel Jack
I wanted to use this PoE splitter to power my coax modem connected to my internet provider/ISP Spectrum. The Arris SB6183 that I use comes with a power brick rated for 12 volts and 1 amp, and this PoE splitter provides an equal output. It's also electrically ground isolated as per PoeTexas, which is vital for modems since the coax cable has a separate ground connection at the other end of the wire. I've tried this with non-isolated PoE splitters and the modem will power cycle or in bad cases, fry itself or the PoE switch port it is connected to. Thankfully there were no issues with regard to voltage/ground with this PoeTexas GAF-12V12W v6 splitter. The only issue I had is that it comes with a Type A barrel jack with 5.5 mm OD, 2.1 mm ID sizing. However, the modem I use has a Type B barrel jack with 5.5 mm OD, 2.5 mm ID. In other words, the PoE splitter did not fit into the jack on my modem. I had to cut the cable and solder on a new Type B DC connector. Another option was to buy an adapter, but I had the spare parts around. Everything is now working perfectly. Full gigabit speeds through the splitter and full 12V 1A power draw support from the splitter. The only way to make this better is to have the pigtail for the power output replaced with a barrel jack so a custom cable can be made.

Good enough, but the first one was DoA
The first one I received only the PoE worked, no data pass-thru. Thankfully the replacement worked fine! Unfortunately, the power input and the data line on my network device aren't adjacent, so the short cords barely reached. Otherwise, the splitter has been great!

Flawless performance over 3 years of burning hot summers and freezing cold winters.
I Picked this up to run my HDHomeRun where my antenna was, in a hot garage attic. Flawless performance over 3 years of burning hot summers and freezing cold winters.

PoE Power Isolated
This device supports true PoE power isolation! The company I work for uses this type of PoE splitters to power devices off the same switch which are connected to each other with an HDMI cable. This scenario causes problems. If the splitter does not properly isolate power, the HDMI cable shares the ground between the two switch ports and this will prevent the switch from re-powering the switch ports until you manually disconnect the HDMI cable between the two devices. This PoE splitter isolates power properly so this is manual intervention is not necessary.

Space saver
I really like using these to power my other 12v devices such as my router and soul modem. It negotiates p o e correctly with my Aruba switch. It only gets mildly warm. This really saves on having to use a bunch of power bricks.

Does what it says.
I haven't owned it very long, but it does what I purchased it for: It removes the PoE power from the Ethernet run and splits it out to a barrel jack. So far no problems, although some people have complained that it either didn't last long or they had connection issues -- haven't run into that yet and hopefully won't.

High quality splitter.
Great splitter. High quality. Much easier to run one POE cable than to have to deal with Ethernet and an ugly +12V wall adapter.
