They have a very annoying static noise. It's at high volume and low volume. I only used these for range shooting. I tried on another set that I bought last year and they do the same thing. Really bad static noise. I checked the batteries and they are all in good condition. I don't know what to do to fix this problem. **Q: Would these work well for mowing. Trying to find a really good pair so i can listen to music during mowing** A: They don’t block any sounds, they simply take any sound that is around you and compress it to a decibel level that you control with the volume control. They work really well with controlling sudden burst of sound such as a gun shot. **Q: Where are the batteries located and how are they change?** A: They aren't change, they are batteries lol **Q: Will these help you hear a deer tip toeing in the woods but also protect you while shooting a rifle? Can they help you hear better than normal?** A: From my experience these muffs allow you to hear better than normal while protecting your hearing. The HD microphones are very sensitive. I wear them toward the rear, so I can hear what is occurring behind me. I have had these for a few months now and I have not noticed anything majorly bad with them. As someone with larger ears, after an hour or two they can start being uncomfortable, however it is never painful. More so fatigue. The entire headset is very high quality. The band has a very good compression on your head and is not uncomfortable with a hat. The battery life seems good so far. For outdoor use, these would probably be fine by themselves. However, if you attend indoor ranges, I would suggest doubling up with orange foamies. The electronic hearing is a nice feature. The muffs do a great job at quieting the loud noises while keeping your ability to hear others. Clearly these don't have the highest quality sound but the most important fact is that talking voices rarely get muffled. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing! For the longest time I’d continue to wear my ear plugs underneath my passive ear muffs (even these when I first got them) just to be sure. Last time I went, I just wore these muffs (no plugs underneath), and they worked great! Some guy had a 44 magnum right next to me, and I could feel the concussion of every trigger pull, but my ears were just fine. The coolest thing is that you can still hear normal conversation, and the volume knob lets you dial in how much of that you want to hear.I’ll never go back to the passive muffs.I bought this set for my son.
