I think that this is ideal for removing cans from a shelf, for example. Or for picking up articles, eg let on your lawn. I think it ideal for the more heavier items. It is well designed & lightweight, but its inability to fold makes it less practical & easy to use than its sister folding design. It is sturdy & and good value. Recommended, but not as much as the folding design, personally.

just what i needed

Just had hip surgery this is a godsend especially as advised not to bend hip beyond 90° so bending to pick things up, put underwear on is a big nono° even use it to close open windows, open blinds too I'd be lost without it right now. Well made and sturdy. Thoroughly recommend

Very Handy and good grip

My mum got one of these when she had a hip replacement and although I’m in my 40s with good mobility I bought one for myself. It has had so many diverse uses- fishing out keys that had fallen in the loo and rescuing lego from under the sofa. A useful gadget for everyone :)
