Duplex is better
One big issue with ham radio DV modes is hang time. When you connect to a worldwide link, it may be busy and tough to unlink. Crude method, pull the plug. Better way, get a duplex hotspot. Then you can send the disconnect command while it's busy. This comes with current Pi-star, and WPSD upgrade works fine in it. Nice that it comes with hardwire Ethernet too. New toy, playing with digital voice. D-star and DMR. AA2CO 73

Nice compact and simple unit !
Good value, love the display screen- does the job and was 1/3 the price if ñame Brad units. Still runs Pistar so you can go wrong

NOT DUPLEX! Great on SIMPLEX
Yes it has 2 antennas but it will NOT perform as a duplex hotspot with Pi-Star. The MMDVM board will see the incoming transmission from your radio but it will never pass this to Pi-Star so the DMR handshake won't finish. Spent about 16 hours yesterday troubleshooting this ... freqencies are fine (tried many combinations), duplex frequency offset is fine (verified with pistar-mmdvmcal), latest MMDVM firmware installed (1.6.1), latest version of Pi-Star, tested almost every modem type in Pi-Star, RPi all updated, radio programming is fine, everything is fine ... this is a hardware issue.Good news is it works great in Simplex mode but costs $60 more than the Simplex version. Giving 2 stars since it does work in Simplex.

Limited range in stock configuration
Okay so this is a cool little hotspot. It does everything it's supposed to do, but the rang is trash. This is due to the antennas being so close together. So if you buy this be prepared to do a little bit of tinkering to get the most out of it. I used two 12 inch coax extensions to get the antennas about two feet apart and now it works extremely well.

Did not work as shipped
Followed usual procedure with a Jumbospot, hit a snag--DMR would show Green, but "service not started" showed on web page. Reset to factory & start over. Now everything loads and it transmits a signal, but is unable to receive anything (either DMR or YSF from my 991a).Amazon "chat" support is unavailable and no way to contact the dealer. Support indeed. :-(

This is not duplex, it's trash
I am growing tired of being lied to about products listed on Amazon.First, this is not a duplex hotspot. Works fine in simplex, it does not function at all in duplex mode. What a waste of time and money.

that it works when it wants to have problem with it
i would be happy if it would work all the time

BER is .02 to .00 which is awsome
Frequency on Amazon hotspot information shows what frequency the unit was tested at. After trying difference frequencies, I applied the 433.550000MHZ as the unit was originally tested at and it performs great.I am a novice and have been doing my research. This unit performs for the value cost.
