Moist and divine was this cherry panettone. I didn’t know what to expect really. I knew I didn’t like the traditional candied fruit style, love the chocolate one though, they’re delicious also. I debated on getting a jar of the cherries to go with my cake given I snagged the cake on sale for $21 just on Christmas Eve, but they’re so expensive. The cake was so much more moist than I expected given the traditional style to me is very, very dry. It’s not overly sweet either since Europeans think us Americans have sickly sweets, and we do. It came with a package of icing sugar which I never even opened. There aren’t cherries in every bite, so don’t get your hopes up, I’d say maybe 1-2 on average, sometimes you can get lucky and have 3 or 4. There aren’t small cherry bits throughout but more so whole or almost whole cherries. The cherries are juicy, and put our glowing neon red jarred cherries to shame, I don’t know if I can even eat another fake American cherry again after tasting the ones in this cake. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was and will not hesitate to order again, on sale, possibly with a small jar of the cherries as a treat, now that would be a dessert your guest wouldn’t stop talking about, trust me.

This was so good I only shared it with my husband. The flavor, texture ever thing about it was great!

Borsari Cuor Di Pandoro Oven Baked Cake With Candied Black Cherries is a delicious treat that can make any day feel special. The manufacturers presented their product as a gift by wrapping the package in a heavy duty paper with accompanying red string tie. I immediately thought it would make a wonderful hostess, birthday, or anniversary gift. The cake is more reminiscent of panettone as it is an enriched sweet bread with candied black cherries. The cake has a rich caramel colored outside with a warm buttercup yellow interior. The bread has a fluffy texture that is rich and buttery. The cherries are sprinkled throughout the bread and provides a sweet and tart contrast. I wish that there were more cherries included as the cake I received had about 2 full cherries per slice (there was a combination of small whole cherries as well as slivered pieces.) The manufacturer includes a 1.76 oz bag of powdered sugar to sprinkle on top of the cake. I will note that I chose to simply place the powdered sugar in a bowl for individuals to add to their piece instead. I tried it both with and without the powdered sugar and I found it fantastic both ways. The manufacturer notes that there are 9 servings per container and each serving is 330 calories with 23g of sugar. The cake was produced and packed in Italy. The expiration date for this product is next year. I found the Borsari Cuor Di Pandoro Oven Baked Cake With Candied Black Cherries a delightful and tasty treat.

The nice star shape of this traditional panatonne type cake is full of cherries and an Italian favorite.The total surprise factor is that these are quite large. I envisioned them as about a 6” and they are easily 12” diameter.While I enjoyed it others in the family claimed it would be an acquired taste.

This is truly a great cake. Pandoro usually have no fruits but this Borsari joined venture with the cherries guys get a 5 star'sHeaven in a day with panforte and panettone, this one was the showstopper. Truly will repeat.

The cake is fine, but there are virtually no cherries. Which doesn't make sense. I love your cherry lozenges, however. Those are totally delicious.
