I just received these and destroyed two trying to crimp with pliers. I ordered the proper crimping tool to see how that will work. I did answer my question as to the pinout.pin 1 of the ribbon cable goes to pin one of the connector, pin 2 of the ribbon cable goes to pin 9 of the ribbon cable, pin 3 of the ribbon cable goes to pin 2 of the connector, pin 4 to pin 10, etc. I thought this is how it would work, but needed to know since this is going to a soldered female.These are cheap enough to be able to destroy a few.

These are pretty good DB15 IDC connectors.However if you do not crimp them evenly, they will break.So be careful when you go to crimp them. Also they are single use.The higher quality ones can be reused. On these the pins will just pull out.

I fried a DB15 connection in a CNC control and had to make a new one. These were cheap and did the trick. No complaints. I only needed one but it came in the pack of 10 for the same price I could have gotten one.
