1860's Civil War Era Ball Gown Pattern, Sizes 16-20

When I went to a ball in Gettysburg wearing the gown I made from the pattern, I was told that it wasn't authentic because of the buttons down the back and a high neckline.

I used this very pattern several years ago for ball gown. The pattern was true to size and went together easily. As far as not being authentic....I did not put buttons down the back and the trim used was period correct. The neckline was period correct also I have been making civil was clothing for close to 20 years and if you do not want to use it for a ball gown....it is an excellent pattern for a summer day dress. I recommend this pattern to the beginner sewer and the it truly is a great pattern to make.
