VibramWomen's FiveFingers V-Trek Insulated Hiking Shoe

Toes not comfortable
I have another pair of Five Fingers and love walking in them, but it's too cold to wear them outside in winter. So I ordered these in the hopes of being able to use them for winter walks. I never got as far as trying them outdoors. Size-wise, they fit as expected. (I ordered up a size from my non-insulated pair after reading other reviews.) But the design of the toes on this model just didn't work for me - while my toes were fine in terms of space/fit, it feels like there is a bump or seam right under the toes. I couldn't walk comfortably for even a few steps. I ended up returning them.

A little to snug for comfort!
I normally wear a 40 so I ordered a size up (41) like suggested but they are very tight on my toes. They feel weird in the area between my toes and the ball of my feet. I tried them with a pair of thick injinji and the area felt better but the toe area was even tighter. If I order another pair I would go up two sizes.

Not insulated enough
I was excited about these shoes having seen pictures from other reviewers saying they went running in these shoes in winter. One picture even shows someone wearing these shoes in a dusting of snow. While these might be insulated, I can't imagine how anyone might wear these outdoors in a New England winter. I can wear these indoors, but when I tried them outdoors, after about 5 minutes I couldn't feel my toes anymore. The temperature outside was about 32 F. I also tried wearing socks under these shoes, but it didn't help much.I'm keeping these shoes for indoor wear, but at least for me, these aren't insulated enough for outdoor use in winter.

Seam under toes is a deal breaker.
I was hoping to use these for winter. The toes weren’t an issue for me (but I have pretty slender toes). However, the way the tread was designed leaves a major lump right where you bend your toes to grip, and it hurt!
