This is a great product to relax curly or wavy hair. I have been using it for years and will not blow dry my hair without using it. Excellent product.

So far, I really like this hair treatment it definitely helps take the frizz out of my hair during this humid weather. I have super long normally straight/ slightly wavy hair that is very fine and gets tangled very easily and the stuff just makes it nicer. It definitely makes it straighter and makes it look very neat. I don’t have to blow it out with a round brush as much as I would so it cuts down on time and just makes my hair look better. I wish it had a better smell. The smell is not bad, but I just wish it was better. I will definitely re-purchase.

IMHO I DO NOT IT IS AS MUCH FOR STRAIGHTENING HAIR WITH A HAIR DRYER (add a little water to it in your hand; go to end of my Review for more instruction plz), BUT IT WILL TOTALLY DO IT BEAUTIFULLY (Experience there, too)! I was a Legal Assistant in SC & a Co-Worker with EQUALLY LONG, CURLY, FRIZZY HAIR - hers was Natural Red, mine Dirty Blonde - came up to me & SHE TOLD ME TO START USING THIS PRODUCT BC MY HAIR WAS TOO FRIZZY!! She was direct, ALWAYS SPOKE HER MIND, so I took her advice & never looked back! Why? There are SO MANY REASONS!!!! It IS SOFT, not stiff like SO MANY anti-frizz hair products, making it effective on ALL LEVELS (redundancy, yes!!)! Makes your hair soft and curly without crazy Bobby-pin frizz fly-aways (Tribute to the Crazy Witch on Old Bugs Bunny Cartoons! Haha!), my Hair DOES SHINE, giving me like a BRIGHT AURA (you need to KEEP SMILING LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, too, bc WE ARE TO GLORIFY GOD IN ALL WE DO, right?) GIGGLES AND LAUGHTER AND SMELLING GREAT!!! I cannot tell you HOW MANY MEN HAVE TOLD ME HOW GREAT - NOT Good, but GREAT!!! - I SMELL!!!! The product IS thick, but I just use a little at a time on my FINGERTIPS- OR, use a little more in the Palm of Your Hand, ADD A LITTLE WATER INTO YOUR PALM AND MIX, BRING TO YOUR FINGERTIPS AND SPREAD LITTLE BY LITTLE TO YOUR BEAUTIFUL CURLS!!!! I KNOW it PROTECTS YOUR HAIR FROM LITERALLY ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS - unless you’re standing in pouring rain!!! - in which case, you need more than Hair Products to help you!! Lol. HOPE this all helps - I had to leave a Review when I saw some negativity in the Reviews because ALMOST 30 YEARS OF USING A PRODUCT IS NOT SOMETHING TO BE TAKEN RUSKLY!!!!! Hahahaha!!!!

The new bottles with solid orange cap have a stronger and less pleasant scent than prior formulas. I have a reaction to strong perfume type scents so after 20+ years of using Str8, I need to find a replacement without a strong scent. However, the product still does a great job of taming frizzies. I am sad to have to give up such a wonderful product.

I'm so happy this product is still on the market. My curly hair tends to get frizzy and this really helps tame it. I love the fresh scent and how it makes my hair look and feel. I find it works best on wet hair and I never blow dry after applying. It's not going to straighten your hair but it takes the frizz out. I used this product all the time when I was in my 30s and still love it and I'm in my 60s.
