Good product. Very easy to apply.
We bought this paint to use it as primer for a magnetic chalkboard in our kitchen. The paint is very easy to use. We applied 6 layers of this magnetic primer with a foam paint roller and than covered it with 3 coats of black chalkboard paint. The result looks really very good.We created a 40" x 20" feed magnetic chalkboard right on our kitchen wall - just on top of the existing paint without any preparation. The magnetic strengths of the painted surface is much better than we expected. This is a great product and I would definitely recommend it to anybody who is planing to create a magnetic wall or chalkboard. For clarification: The painted surface is not magnetic itself but is creating a surface that holds magnetic stickers.

Nah, don't buy this
I tried to make this work. I got the standard first, and it was some of the worst paint I've ever used. Just gloopy and hard to spread. Barely covered a small wall. With one coat (this product recommends at least 3 coats) it's barely magnetic. I figured, sunk cost and all, to try the high quality hoping it spread better to salvage this project. It was somehow worse. The iron powder in the product seemed to dissolve worse in the "better" paint, so even after stirring as much as I could, it just had huge chunks I could not get rid of. I ended up with a bunch of chunks on my wall that I'm going to have to sand down, and I threw most of it away. ~$50 down and super strong magnets hardly stick to the surface. Also this stuff is terrible to clean. It's a fun idea, but the execution is so bad that it's basically a scam product. Stay away.

Excellent Product - Much better than Magnetic primer
This product paint spread like pudding covered the wall evenly without requiring an additional painted layer. I used two coats for this project When we applied magnets on the wall you could hear the "pop" as they attached to the newly painted surface. The dry erase markers with magnets in the tops are less sensitive and need to be placed gently but the flat magnets can be thrown at the wall and stick. Paint on the floor and on my hands were easy to clean up and wash off afterwards.I had tried the magnetic primer from a local home improvement store a few years back. Technically it worked, but the magnet application was not consistent, there was a very strong odor when applied and it was oil based. It was also more challenging to clean up afterwards.

Great concept, below par results
Great idea, Not as magnetic as I would've liked. I've applied up to 8 coats of this and the magnetic tape still stick to the area loosely and falls off easily. Company needs to go back and make it better.

Good product, but too expensive! Plan on applying 5-6 coats!
This is an amazing product, but I only gave it 4 stars because you don’t get as much for your money as I would like!We put 3 coats onto my home office chalk board (aprox. 4’ x 4’) in order to turn it into a magnetic chalkboard. The Magnetize paint/primer went on easily and we had no problems applying 3 coats on one sunny and warm day. On a subsequent day we covered it with 2 layers of chalk board paint. The chalkboard looks great! All areas of my chalkboard are magnetic - even coverage without any voids! Unfortunately though, only thick magnets reliably work on the chalkboard. Consequently, I had to replace the thinner magnets on my instructional materials with thicker magnets. Given the cost of this product, I had hoped that 3 good coats would’ve been sufficient. If you want your surface to work reliably for all magnets then you should plan to put 5-6 coats of this product on the surface! Depending on your surface though, this could be quite expensive.

Great Way to display magnets!!!
This is great and really works well, I will tell you it takes alot of coats, we actually did 7 coats but well worth it, all of our magnets worked, even the really heavy ones

does not actually provide hold for magnets
Sounded great, fails upon use. The paint mixes and spreads nicely. It does not hold magnets at all. I applied it to rough plywood and used a 6 inch puddy knife to spread it. It applied nicely and made a great filler to make a very smooth surface. I tried multiple thicknesses of application. No thickness improved the magnetic capacity of the paint.

Terrific, I s2g
I bought this stuff to make magnetic drawer bottoms to store miniatures in so they dont get jostled around and man is this stuff is terrific. In the pic these 2 miniatures have neodymium magnets in the bases and they're clinging on to the incline with 3 paint coats like champs. It has the texture of something between heavy fuel oil and bitumen and takes some getting used to, but tbh worth the effort!
