new water heater not needed!
I used only the heating elements, not the thermostats. The thermostats looked different than the ones on my water heater, so I didn't bother and just hoped the elements would fix it. Sure enough, it did. I have a Rheem 4500 watt, dual-element water heater.I bet a plumber would have charged us a few grand to put in a new water heater, but all it was was the elements. The breaker would get hot and trip just about every day. I watched a YouTube video on how to drain it. I had a 38mm axle nut socket that worked in lieu of the 1 1/2 faucet socket that I didn't have. Don't undertighten or overtighten the heating elements. I'd rather undertighten and go back and snug it up than overtighten and destroy the female threads--ruining the water heater most likely.Make sure the bottom of your water heater---probably a pan---is completely dry once you are done. Mine wasn't at first and it wouldn't heat up. Once I dried it up, the water heater started heating up quickly and it's working exactly as it's supposed to. I'll let you know if anything changes.

Everything included but the wrench
Bought when the home water heater went wonky. Turned out our elements were okay, it was just the upper thermostat had gone out. Left the existing elements, replaced the thermostats. Hot water back as it was, glad I got the complete kit, the next thing to go will probably be the elements, and I've got 'em.

Easy Installation
First off, I am not an electrician, but being unable to have water usage was a great reason to try this install. I turned of the power switch and the breaker to the water heater, started the disassembly after a lot of unwrapping, I was to the inside, after a lot of pictures for reference, I pulled out the elements, which were broken into several chucks. Carefully replacing each thermostat controls with help from my pictures, they were replaced in 25 mins, then replacing the elements went fairly easy hooked up all wire, set thermostats,

The switches and thermostats didn't work correctly after 5 days and keeps tripping the waterheater
After only 5 days and using these parts to replace all aspects of our water heater our heater is constantly tripping because the water is over 180° F. The bottom element doesn't shut off and it seems the switch that was working 5 days ago no longer works. The elements wished but the switches broke down in 5 days. We returned the switches and found better locally.
