11 months later, not working.
Updated: 11/7/22 We plug it in for the first time of the season about a week ago and it worked great! Did its job! Today it is no longer working. Absolutely no heat is coming from the element despite the light being on and doing all the troubleshooting. Very disappointed for something so expensive to not work less than a year later. I have put in a request to talk to someone at the warranty department so hopefully they will honor their warranty and help us fix this issue We purchase this because we have a significant problem with ice buildup by our front door. The way our house was designed was stupid and we will get a block of ice right in front of the front door. Even with salt and like it is extremely hard to manage. I saw this online after hearing about ones for stairs. We decided we'd take the plunge and worst case scenario if it wasn't working, we could always return it. This thing melted the ice block in front of our front door in less than 24 hours. And that was with temperatures not getting above freezing! I am shocked. So far it has been extremely durable and believe it or not we actually have our metal grate that we use for clearing snow off our shoes on top of it. It immediately melts the snow under the grate and is very sturdy. This is seriously a game changer! I might save money to put these all across my front porch lol. We are definitely considering the stair add-ons! We have recommended it to our friends in the area as well. I'm not lying when I say that this was still efficient at negative 7 fahrenheit! That's about -22 Celsius if you are like the rest of the world and use the metric system. I highly recommend this item. I also love that as an on-off switch for the days that it's above freezing we can just shut it off. I haven't noticed a significant increase in our electrical bill either when we run it. Definitely a worthy investment

Really works to keep away the ice and snow!
We've had this heated outdoor mat through two snowfalls thus far and it works great! As you can see from the two attached photos, there was NO snow or ice on the mat, and even a few inches on the brick surrounding the mat was clear. (One snowfall was closes to 3"). Traction is good. The material seems durable and installation was a breeze. You do need to pay attention to where the electric cord exits the mat to see how you will get the cord to your outlet. We hooked it up to a wi-fi connected plug so we can turn the mat on and off from inside the house. It does collect a little dirt and if they eventually have a mat that is a little more attractive that would be nice, BUT the most important thing is that this does work to keep the area clear of ice and snow. This will definitely help us be safer getting through the winter as we step out our front door to get packages, mail, etc. A little pricey but worth the money for us.

Does a great job
I have had one of these for quite a long time, and the center coils finally gave out. I purchased a new one, but haven't installed it yet because the old one still does a passable job of keeping the mat free from snow. This is a great mat for kicking the snow off your shoes before entering. It melts the snow and is ready for the nest entry. High quality and electrically protected by its included circuit breaker.

Efficient way to icy entrance areas
Mat works well. Heats up quickly and keeps ice from forming. I have a gutter that drips onto the entrance and makes the area slippery. The mat keeps the area ice free and is warm enough to dry the area when the temperature is above freezing. The cord is a little short; it reaches the area, but the cord is above the concrete, not on it. Definitely worth the purchase.

No ice worries!
These have been a life saver. We can reach our car with no ice worries. They assemble easily. Very pleased!

What an awesome product!!!
This mat worked better than I expected. I added a before and after photo showing the difference it made at our front door. The house isn't designed that well and whenever we get accumulation, the roof over the front door develops an ice dam. As it melts and refreezes, the porch becomes solid ice. That before photo has about 3" of solid ice. I placed the mat and within 24 hours, that ice was melted. I added some additional photos to show some other enhancements I made. I found a waterproof cover (designed for extension cords) that wraps around the mat-to-power connector as that area tends to pool water. I'm pretty OCD and wanted some extra electrocution protection. I also add a locking outlet cover and lock to the mat itself. This thing is pricey so I wanted to make sure it didn't walk away. And yes, I did also add that railing to improve the safety even further. I'm so happy with this purchase as it's solving an issue we've had for two decades. Thank you HeatTrak!!!

Works as advertised!
This is fantastic! We are using this heated mat in front of a door that opens into the North. It takes the brunt of snow storms. The photo shows the mat is clear including an inch of clearance at the edges. The heated mat draws 1.9 amps and the cord is high quality, weather proof. We are using it on composite boards.

Worth it.
Yes theyโre expensive. Yes they work GREAT! I went back and forth for a couple years on whether or not I should buy these and finally pulled the trigger. Couldnโt be more happy with them. The pic I attached is during a blizzardโฆ

Perfect
I use this to melt the snow on my balcony so my cats have a place to sit in the winter. It works very fast and is well constructed. I wish I had purchased a remote at the same time.

Excellent Products
I had Heat Trax for many years when I had a home business and had people coming to my door. I wanted them to be safe, and the mats did their job. This new, large mat is for the gate entrance to my deck to help with snow clearance, and it worked great in the first storm. I had many comments through the years on the mats & I sang the praises.

Easy to setup and quick acting - quick value
These heated mats did their job the first time they were needed. Ice and snow were kept away, so nice to walk out and not have to shovel. The cats and dog appreciate it it as well. A stray also comes by and hangs around on it after her dinner too! In our recent -40C/F wind and snow, only the bottom stair mat was partially covered from the huge drifts in the driveway - sheer volume of snow but I easily broke it away by stepping on it. It was just slush and easily cleaned. The other 2 steps were clear as well as the top entrance mat. I had purchased a 2'x3' mat but it only fit a quarter of this top set of stairs. I moved it to the side entrance steps, and now have the 40"x60" heated entrance mat which almost covers it entirely. I truly love these mats. I feel better about winter overall, and not having to deal with shovelling the steps, and bonus points for helping the feral felines.
