This was a great product for stabilizing pen blanks. It worked great! Dark wood will discolor the resin but I just save that batch to use on dark wood. It will keep for one year if bottled back up and stored in a refrigerator.

This stuff is wonderful for stabilizing beryl for pen blanks and other small beryl carvings. I tried it on a larger piece of aged somewhat punky oak with several checks in it hoping that the checks would be filled in and stabilized so I could carve the piece on a lathe but sadly that didn't work out so well. I still think it's a five star product for wood stabilizing without prominent checks in it. Plus, because it's heat cured, it can be reused.

I do a lot of lapidary work and I had some stones that are very porous and fragile. I saw where another jeweler had recommended using this Cactus Juice to help strengthen the porous stones. I tried it with some stones and I found that it did not really help as the liquid is just too thin to stay in the stone. Fabulous for wood, but for stones, I can't recommend.I love the fact that you can reuse this product until it is gone but it must be kept cool, below 85 degrees or else it will turn hard in the container. That is not an issue.The product is great quality for wood works, but for stone, I have to find something else to use.Wish this would have worked for the stones. I really love working with the Cactus Juice but it just didn't work for purpose I needed it with.

I am a repeat user of this product over the past few years and will continue to purchase.When curing in a toaster oven, it's good to use ceramic tiles (bought from Home Depot of $1 each) and an oven thermometer to keep the temp consistent. I set mine at 180.By the way, I used to use an old toaster oven I had laying around. It went super hot and burnt up. it was a good thing I did it outside in the driveway. You are better off buying a new reliable one on sale to cure the resin.

The cactus juice works great. I needed to thread some dowells and tap some holes. I was getting some tearout untill I stabilised the Walnut dowells and maple Burl's.

Great Stuff! Will be buying more as I get further into stabelizing wood for my knife handles. Who knows i could end up using on other things as well.. Thanks!

I liked that it worked as advertised! Easy peasy.I stabilized some lousy scrap wood in my shop, and it turned out very well.I could even work the scraps.
