I got these traps because I had a big gnat problem in my house with my indoor plants. I was repotting soil and nothing seemed to be working until I got these. There was a visible, significant change after just week one on these things. Apparently gnats are most attracted to yellow and I think that is why they were the most effective. These things are extremely sticky, so be careful when putting them in because if it falls on the dirt, there is going to be so much dirt stuck on the sticky parts. Luckily there isn't any odor on these traps. If I had to point out a downside for these traps, it's that they are difficult to put into the dirt. The bottom part is so flimsy and it can be very difficult for it to stand when trying to put it in the soil. I've had to put it up against the pot in order for the trap to be effective.
