Superb Taste and texture.
Very good taste. Larger than normal size. A little pricey but quality is among the best. Love their anchovies too.

The perfect canned protein food you can store.
$11 per tin!!! But I still bought a pack of 8. Itโs very hard to find large sardines, and one of our favorite family recipes is a wholesome fried rice tomato onion dish that keeps large sardines whole. First I bought a pack of six in glass jars which amazingly arrived in tact because it wasnโt packed securely and wasnโt marked FRAGILE. The bottles were jumbled. One was leaking. Amazon may have removed that option because the review page selection was removed, and I got the pop up message that Amazon couldnโt find that order. So Iโm very happy that the tinned large sardines is available and arrived in perfect condition. No leaks or dings, or breakages. They arrived tightly wrapped together in plastic wrap and in a cardboard box. They are a good food to store for an โemergencyโ meal, or camping, or creating every kind of recipe from salads, fry ups, to sandwiches, hot or cold, cooked or as is!!! ENJOY!! ๐

Great taste
When these were $7โ$8 a can, they were a fantastic deal. After the Trump tariffs on Spain, the price shot up, and at that point Iโd rather go with Portuguese sardines. Ortiz has that soft, buttery texture and a richer flavor, in my opinion, compared to the firmer Portuguese styleโbut taste is personal. With a $5 difference between the two, Ortiz just isnโt worth the hunt anymore.

Sardine Afficiondo Favorite
This is another excellent offering. It's one of the two brands I buy. I reviewed the other one which I won't mention here.I really think Ortiz and another brand, which uses sardines caught off the coast of Portugal, are in a dead heat for deliciousness. Ortiz is less "smoky" and considered a delicacy by sardine lovers. A real treat!

Good quality.
Fresh tasting large headless cleaned sardines. I never thought I could eat sardines. These are good quality and the price reflects that.

Cans shipped in unpadded paper bag ...NO REFUNDS ON DAMAGED TINS .
Ordered 8 cans . Shipping time was good but some cans were deeply dented and no returns or refunds allowed. Shipper used an unpadded brown bag for shipping . Of the cans that were not dented and possibly unhealthful to consume the flavor of the sardines is very nice . Quality olive oil and the fish are very rich , next time I will eat half a can at a time . Only one star since damaged goods are your loss ...

Forget Tuna
And now, you will forget all about tuna. . . These are the best sardines I have ever tasted. Large and amazing. They are expensive and I would not eat them with mustard and cracker, which is my old regular way.
