Works Consistently.
Works great. App needs to be updated to newer iPhone format, however, is does its job consistently well. I have never had an issue with the unit breaking or not connecting. I have used both this version and the older Neurio version.

DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!
Generac has two different PWRview modules. One is for solar cells only, and the other is for home electric monitoring (HEM). That's what this one is. This kit was derived from the solar cell version, but it's missing the necessary wide band antenna that transmits usage info to your mobile app so, THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK FOR YOUR HOME UNLESS YOU HAVE SOLAR PANELS AND JUST WANT TO MONITOR PANEL OUTPUT! I called Generac and they apologized and said that they would send an antenna but they never did. Bad product, bad marketing and bad customer service. Makes me wonder if I made a BIG MISTAKE installing a Generac standby generator???

Customer Support is Terrible
This system worked good for 2 years. Then it started not connected to the PWR app even though it was sill working locally. After momnths of back and forth with Generac's support team they stopped answering my questions. They say they have tried everything the can and cannot fiqure out the problem. And actually they really did nothing. Only kept saying its my local netwaork problem even after I have everthing checked out and all new router & wifi boosters installed. Not happy with their support team at all!

Cool new home technology
Not difficult to install physically, then create an account, then you have to download the installation app to connect it to the wifi then open the pwerview app and login your account. The app is a little overwhelming to set up at first at this poit im still try to dial it in but the core functions are nice and work well.

Great customer service
This is a great product with great customer service. I purchased the unit for a specific purpose and the technical support department has been very helpful and creating a customized set up for my specific needs.

newly branded old neurio
When Generac acquired neurio they disable the appliance detection feature and now its just a watt meter. I called the customer service and they said Generac disabled this. My advice is there are better energy monitoring services this is just a glorified watt meter.

This is the Generac version of the Neurio home energy monitor
Generac bought Neurio Technology to pick up this neat energy monitor to add to its portfolio of energy products. This is the same as the Neurio W1-Hem Home Energy Monitor. I have the Neurio version with the add on solar CT kit to monitor two lines, the main power from the utility, and the power from the solar panels.Once Generac bought Neurio, the branding on the web page and the phone app was updated with their logo.I attached a picture from chrome showing a nice day in May, yellow is solar production, blue is my usage, which is mostly from two 4-ton a/c condensers cycling during the day to keep my 9200sq/ft home cool. Also an electric Nissan Leaf car charged for a bit in the morning.I also added a picture of a last month energy report, showing a bar graph of daily total production (yellow bars) and consumption (blue bars). At the bottom of the report, it shows daily total statistics, ie, May 4 I produced 100Kw from my 60 solar panel array and consumed 40Kw, so 60kw was pushed to the net meter credit balance. I'll use some of that credit in July and August.I love the device, I can look at current usage on the phone app and see it immediately change when I turn things on and off, even a low power device like a light bulb.It shows a phantom 40w of solar production at night, maybe from moon light? I doubt it, but it doesn't distress me. Support never figured out that part. After about three years the device failed, no response from it at all, so I bought another one. It was Neurio brand also at that time. But I was very disappointed that I couldn't connect the new device (mac address, etc) to the old device history so that I can continue to get lifetime usage reports. I emailed support and they said it can't be done. So the data logging all started over with the new device. It really doesn't seem that big of a technological task to have the new unit start logging to the same data set does it? I understand that devices can fail, though 3 years seems a bit short, I accept that as being just unlucky. But really it should have a longer warranty, the Generac warranty is the same as Neurio which is 1 year.

Displays Power (kW) Demand
Had the generator electrician install the device. Did not need to run a separate power supply from breaker panel; the transfer switch had a spare power supply. Displays power demand. Does not display power provided unless you have solar panels. Now I know if my emergency generator is approaching its power rating.
