Excellent Glass for the money
These Steiners are probably the best small binoculars I have ever used. As long as you have good light they work great. If you are a hunter needing dawn/dusk viewing, get at least a 40mm objective as these just cannot pull in enough light. However, for taking on vacation, hiking, keep an extra pair in the truck, they are great and compact. They are a little stout on the weight side, but they are built solid from Magnesium alloy so they are not some cheap piece of plastic like most others out there. That's why I bought them! If you are going to wear them around your neck a good bit, I would ditch the factory strap and it is way too narrow for these hefty binoculars. Strongly recommend them and the glass is crystal clear edge to edge as it should be.

excellent for its size and price
Unfairly compared to my big german 10x50 binoculars, these are less bright, less crisp image, and less precise focus control. All normal for its size and price. Given other binoculars in its price range, to be fair, I imagine these are among the top of the list. I like the clarity of the german glass, and I like the small size. I would give 4 1/2 stars if I could, as the eyebox is a bit difficult to get right at times, and the small focus knob is quite small with imprecise movement and focus effectiveness. Still very good, just not perfect.

WOW!
I've used only budget binoculars from the local Sporting Goods store until now. Comparing them to the Steiner is like comparing a cave man to people today! As i look at a Pine Tree in the distance with the old glass, the bunch needles on the tip of a branch look like a green blob. With the Steiner glass I can see the individual needles! I suppose I'm so incredibly impressed because I've never looked through quality glass before, but WOW!After seeing the difference, I can now see how bad the budget glass was. Fringing, warping at the edges, a hazy whiteness, lack of depth, bad contrast, etc... With the Steiner glass I don't see fringing, there is a great field of depth, a greater field of view, a crispness, better color contrast, etc... I suppose you have to see what glass CAN be before you know how bad the glass you're currently using really is.With tax I paid just over $200 USD for the Wildlife 8x24 based on the impeccable Steiner reputation. If had a chance to try these out before purchasing, I'd have paid $300 easy. It may be my inexperience with binoculars, but I'm that impressed!

Best for backyard birding
I got these glasses to answer the question: “What type of bird is at the feeder?” They are perfect for this. Small foot print that fits on the table next to my chair and gives a wide and bright view of the birds eating at the feeder. It also slides nicely into a pocket when a walk in order.

Easy to adjust
These binoculars are very good. I use them to look out upon my farm. Plus I will take them traveling. They are a wee heavy, but the quality makes up for that,

The optics are very nice
Firstly, these aren't as small as truly compact binoculars, so if that is what you are looking for pay attention to the dimensions. I wear them in a small waist bag while I am walking my dogs, so that I can keep an eye on the neighborhood birds. The binoculars work perfectly for that purpose and the optics compare with my larger-non travel Nikon binoculars that I keep in the house. I bring them with me on all of my walks, which is why I got them.

Disappointed with Purchase
These are my first ever Binoculars and I am very disappointed with my purchase. I wish I tried them sooner to be able to return. I see out in the distance better (without) the binoculars. They don’t do the job for me…which is being able to see clearly out in the distance. Even with High focus, things still sleep blurry, I made sure the lenses where wiped down and clean and everything. I bought it cause of the positive reviews, but I am highly disappointed. I don’t want them
