Does the water temperature matter?

Yes, according to the vendor, room temperature or cold water is recommended. Warm or hot can cause cracks apparently. Works great!

How many ounces of liquid does the cup hold?

The cup holds 24 ounces, but, if you put that much liquid in, the kava will be very diluted. Also, the ball won't move around much, which defeats the purpose of this gadget. So I'd use 12 ounces of liquid, at most, or a larger container and 2 balls.

Could you just use any protien shaker with kava?

I wouldn't. You don't really want to drink the root, just infuse the water with it. A protein shaker would just mix it all together. This shaker holds the root and strains the water through it, giving you the goodness of the kavalactones without all the floaties.

Can you re-use kava from the ball after one mix?

i wouldn’t personally do that unless i was completely out and desperate. lol I'm sure you can get some out to drink but it’s kinda like trying to re use coffee grounds.
