Professional grade hearing protection.
For this price you expect it to be great, and mostly this is far better than any competitor product. My head is too large across for the regular headband style. I had those, and had to return them. This model is designed to work under helmets, and it works great. I can put my baseball cap under or over the strap, but under works better. The gel cups are very comfortable. I didn't try the regular cups so can't compare.Sound quality is excellent. Especially with foam plugs under these, even at an indoor range the hearing protection is better than any I've had. Note that at some point, sound will overcome any barrier over your ear itself, so the incremental gain with these over the cheaper over-ear products is far less than the incremental benefit of adding even cheap muffs over nothing at all. I would say 10% better at most. As always, indoors especially and also where very loud firearms are used, add in the in-ear foam plugs under these for optimal hearing protection. Where these really show their value is in comfort (especially with glasses on), and the adjustable strap on his model is far more customizable than the stock head band style. Especially for those of us blessed with larger heads! Also, the quality is great for the microphones for passing through normal sounds. If you wear these a couple hours a month, it's probably not worth the expense. If you were these a few hours a week or more, and have multiple applications (workshop noise, range time, etc) I'd endorse them as worth the money.

IT FITS UNDER A USMC LWH KEVLAR! (With some mods)
I understand that this review may only pertain to a small group of individuals, but I would have appreciated it. I have an issued LWH (Large/XL) Kevlar. If you are unsure of your model, take off the Kevlar cover and it should be on a sticker on the inside of your Kevlar. I did change two things before even attempting to fit them though. I first changed out those crappy issued grey pads for some aftermarket ones that can be found on amazon for $30. I don't think that this was completely necessary, but I hated those pads anyway so I thought why not. I did however leave a gap over the top of my head from ear to ear between the pads to make room for the head strap. These pads fit much better and are MUCH more comfortable than the issued stuff. Secondly, and this is probably necessary, is changing the chin strap. You don't need to go all nuts and buy Team Wendy everything for $300. Again I found an H-NAPE strap with a large clearance around the ears for these headphones on Amazon for $30. Shocker, this was also much more comfortable than the issued strap that stank and was slimy on the leather pieces. These headphones seem to be pretty damn tough, and my god do they amplify sound! Yes, they are expensive, but if you plan on doing some Hi-Speed stuff, spend your money on the IMPORTANT things, not patches and other moto crap. Being able to hear MORE than you usually do in a firefight is invaluable. Time will tell if these things are up to snuff, but as of right now 10/10.

Brilliant
Nice, comfortable and secure with great volume control and noise abatement, though I use foam plugs under these when shooting the line with Garands, etc. The Supreme PRO X allow me to hear commands without worry. The sculpted lower lobe leaves room for high mount rifle stocks and soft ear seals work well with spectacles and for long visits to the range. More secure when you run-n-gun. Get some!UPDATE. 2020After a year of on-and-off use, I began to get some static and ignored it until the headset went entirely dead. Life got in the way of regular shooting for a year or so. Finding my old MSA muffs in a box full of shooting gear, I thought; what the heck, I'll get ahold of ACE and see if I can get them fixed.I sent a message, sent the muffs to local (USA) support and had a brand new set in a week. Nearly two years after the listed return date, ACE made it right. Most EXCELLENT.

Worth the cost if you are a frequent user.
I've had these for over a month now, so I feel I can give an accurate review. First off, I bought these for use in a manufacturing environment. Most of the reviewers are shooters, so hopefully I can give another perspective. I shoot also, and yes, these are great for that.Again, this review is for use in a manufacturing setting. Twelve hour shifts, working on machinery, in hot and cold areas.I got these because the earpiece I had to jam in my ear for our radios hurt my ear. After a few 12 hour shifts in a row, my ear physically hurt. So I splurged and bought these. It is so nice not having a sore ear on my first couple of days off.The headset itself is very comfortabe. The gel hear pads are light years better than traditional foam inserts. So far, they seem to be holding up very well also. They do get a little warm, and I am concerned as the Midwest summer heat hasn't arrived yet. I may post an update later if it is too hot to bear. They do a great job of deadening the sounds when the volume is set to its lowest setting. The noise cancellation keeps it at an acceptable level. Now, when you are on the plan floor and you are trying to hear someone talking, you generally turn up the volume on the headset. You can hear the person talking, but it also amplifies the ambient sound. There is no frequency cutoff, just volume. Soft talkers are especially frustrating. So, in order to hear them talk, you also get an earfull of air handlers, machine noises, conveyors, the rustle of your hi-vis vest. The microphones are excellent. But it is nice to be able and adjust that back down when you no longer have to listen to a conversation. I would also be mindful to turn them down when you go into the bathroom. Having to listen to someone dropping the kids off at the pool is bad enough without it being amplified. One of my favorite aspects of these is the two-way radio input. With a short (supplied) cable, I am able to connect them to my speaker mic clipped to my shirt. That allows me to use the regular microphone for the radio, but listen to the radio come through both sides of the headphone. That makes it so much easier to hear radio traffic. You adjust the volume of the radio by the volume switch on the radio. So, you can turn up the radio volume while turning down the ambient volume. Of course, the opposite is true. You can turn up the microphones if you are trying to hear a person or diagnose a noice, but not have the radio blast you at the same time. Are they expensive? Yes. People ask me how I like them, and are usually disappointed when I tell them how much they cost. If you use them frequently for long periodd of time like I do, it is worth the cost. Like others have said, buy once, cry once.
