Convenient

This seems to work fine. I have not used one of these before, so have no comparison. It does come with batteries, opening the battery compartment was a bit challenging, but I finally got it. I assume that when the reading is steady it is complete. The unit shuts off after a few seconds. Actually the instructions on the Amazon page were easier to use than the printed sheet in the package. This is nice to have during the pandemic.
