Works for me
I put this in as a replacement in my shallow water well. It's been in for 7 months and so far, flawless. I did add a pressure control switch.

Installs easily, works well, but runs loud
I had a nearly 50 year old 1/2HP deep well pump go bad. Replaced it with a Lowes brand Utilitech 1/2HP pump. That lasted 3-1/2 years. Purchased the same identical one (in a hurry when you lose water to your house) and replaced it. It would only build pressure to 33psi, with a 40psi cutoff. Finally did some research and this seemed like the pump with the best overall comments, and a reasonable price. It has all of the same fittings as the old pump so installation was easy. However, the pressure switch is mounted on the opposite side, and for me, the pressure switch on this Wayne pump is right up against the crawl space wall. So I had to wire it up first, and then rotate it and install it. If it ever goes bad, I'll probably just disconnect the wiring and install a new pressure switch somewhere else in the output water line. Otherwise, that will be a pain. I wish this Wayne pump had a port on either side to switch where the pressure switch could go.After getting it installed, it built pressure and eventually (it took awhile), it cutoff at 50psi as expected. That is a nice bonus, as the 20-40psi of our old pump and switch was just too low. Much nicer now! From cut-on to cut-off, it takes about 3 minutes if no water is running. Not too bad.The only other real issue I have with this pump is it is loud. Much louder than our previous one. Granted, this is putting out double the horsepower. But, maybe adding some noise isolation components would be nice, like rubber grommets or washers in various places internally to kill the sound and vibration? Currently it is mounted to a steel L-bracket against the crawl space wall (just like the others), so I am going to try to slide some rubber washers in between the mount and the motor mount and see if that helps.Oh, and I should also mention I didn't use any other components; the original foot valve, etc. in the well are all the same...Overall, a good pump that does indeed work as advertised.

Very disappointed!
I had high hopes for this pump but after hooking it up it wouldn't hold pressure. I checked all my pipes and fittings and no leaks. Even if it has a small leak it should be able to get above 25psi and even get to the cutoff psi then slowly loose pressure. I went through the trouble to buy everything new outside of the pump and it still wouldn't hold pressure. After further examination the casing on the pump wasn't fully bolted on. I'm starting to think they sent me a used one or refurbished one for the price of a brand new one. Very disappointed now that I'm out $100s because either they suck at assembling their products or sent me a used one. Will never buy Wayne again!

CWS501/2 HP well pump
Works great! This is my second wayne pump (same model) lasted many years. My well is 98 feet and it worked perfect. So i got another one just like it, the old one was still working but something was making a loud noise, maybe a bearing or brushes worn out i don't know , so after all these years i just replaced it. All good! No noise. I only replaced the pump and connections. Don't come wired, i just added the cord from my old pump. My well stays nearly full so its rated at 80 ft. On 110 VDIY and save big time! Thanks

Worked Well.. haha get it?
Replaced worn out pump on 10-31-24 Primed and worked perfectly. Ace hardware quoted me $1400 for a similar pump and I decided to give this one a shot. Working great so far and the installation was straightforward. Water pressure is better then before and this pump is much quieter. Using 120 to power it and it was already wired for it. Seems like a sturdy product that will last. I will post a later review if anything changes

Great Jet Pump
This Wayne 1/2 horsepower pump installed easily and works great. I like the fact that the pressure switch is not adjustable, because the water pressure it puts out is quite high and not having to adjust it makes things easier. Surprising that it was just $225, a great value, and seems well made and likely to give many years of service. The very old pump I was replacing was of the same type so I was able to reuse some of the piping. I removed the back cover of the motor per the instructions and switched it over from 110 to 220 volts and connected the wires from the old pump. I am using the deep well configuration with the jet in the well and two pipes going down. I am using black plastic water service line for that which came from the old pump. My well is only 35 feet deep and the water is 17 feet from the surface and probably draws down to 20 or a little more feet. For a well of this type theoretically you may be able to use shallow well single pipe configuration, but I think the two pipe system is safe and less likely to lose suction. This Wayne is putting out 50 psi which is more than adequate for household uses and irrigating the garden with a sprinkler.

Bad pressure switch problem
Unit arrived as scheduled and described. After making the pipe and electrical connections the unit ran and primed as needed. Next day when timer control switched pump on it would not come on. The pressure switch would not start the pump. When I called the company they offered to replace unit if I packed it back up and requested the return label from Amazon. When I asked them to ship me just the pressure switch they requested pictures of pump from multiple sides and the wiring hook up to the pump. They told me after receiving the pictures their warranty department would review them in the next 4-5 business days and email me with their decision about replacement of the switch. I didn’t want to wait a week or more for them to make up their minds on a $22 part so I purchased one at my local plumbing supply house. Pump cranked right up with new pressure switch and has run fine ever since. Pump runs my sprinkler system well.
