Q: Will this fit a mag lite 2-D cell flashlight?

This lamp is for 4 to 30V. A two cell gives 2 x 1.5V = 3V, this you need the same form factor lamp, but for about 2 to 4V for a 2 cell. It will work for a 3 cell and upwards.

Q: Do these led bulbs maintain the same focusing ability as the original bulbs?

The beam's size/focus is controlled by the Maglite, not really the bulb. It works the same with the led bulb as the original, except the led is brighter.

Q: Will this work in a D5 MagLight?

This one probably won't fit. A better choice would be LudoPam Conversion Upgrade LED Bulb for 3 4 5 6 Cell C/D Maglite Flashlight. As low as $9.99 on Amazon. Good luck!

Q: is this led bulb for a big 3-D cell mag light flashlight ?

I had two maglites to upgrade: a 2-cell and a 3-cell. I had to be careful to order the correct LEDs. Then I had to be careful to put each LED into the correct flashlight. I was successful and the conversion went well. The LED shown looks like the one that I bought for the 3-cell. It clearly says it will work on flashlights with 3 or more cells, it looks like the one that you want. Go for it. It is a vast improvement over the ole incandescent bulb.
