Derby rookie approved!
I started derby 101 wearing a borrowed set of the triple eight saver pads, and would come home from practice with bad bruises on my knees. I also had a hard time sliding with falls as the knee pads would really just stick to the ground. With this TSG pair, I don’t get bruised anymore! It’s also so much easier to do skills like double knee slides and knee taps since they glide over the rink floor really nicely without being too slippery. I like how you can pull on the knee and elbow pads and then adjust them with the velcro straps. They feel really secure during practice and I rarely need to adjust them. The only issue I have is with the wrist guards, which have a hard plastic strip on the top and the bottom. They do a great job with protection, but I’ve found that the plastic at the top can press into the little bone that sticks out at the base of the wrist and has caused some bruising there. Not sure if this is a sizing or adjusting problem on my end but it was something I noticed after a few wears.Based on the sizing chart I would be a large knee pad, medium elbow pad, and small wrist guard. I went with the medium set and it works well for me, I just keep the velcro looser on the knee pads and tighter on the wrist guards.

Most comfortable and best fitting protection
Although they are pricey, it’s totally worth it. The quality, comfort and safety is reflected in the price tag. I have two pairs, one for me and one for my partner.

Okay for beginners, but not for long
These will protect you, but not for long! Fine for beginners. I bought them for a roller derby beginner course and was fine, but once I bought real derby pads I was shocked at how flimsy these are in comparison. Also the seams definitely busted after six months of skating and falling for 5 hours a week.
