A positive approach to life on a kid's level
My 3 children, ages 10, 7, and 4 respond to this book. Each section consists of definition of that C, some colorful illustrations and a one page story to explain the concept. It's the kind of book where you can read 1 section a night. There is also question/ discussion page for each section and tips for kids. The section that resonated the most with my oldest was Confidence. There's a tip that says that kids who are confident tend not to get bullied. I think that helped my daughter realize that she had some control over how people treat her by the way that she presents herself.I feel like this book introduces lots of concepts regarding self awareness and self improvement in a way that children can understand. When your child comes home from school with an issue, I can use the appropriate C word to remind him of way to refocus the situation.

Great interactive tool
A charming book of relatable stories to be shared with your child, grandchild or youth group. It is fun to see how discussions surrounding Ooga's and Zeeta's experiences develop, and the thoughtful activities following each chapter are useful tools for guiding these discussions. As a fun interactive tool, I would recommend this workbook for all parents and youth leaders interested in promoting good character development in those young girls and boys for whom they care.

Best book for helping kids make good decisions
Fantastic book! Has really helped communicate with my daughters about making choices and how to listen to your self. We have read the book multiple times and still get something new from it each time.

Character education works!
As a previous 3rd grade teacher and current 5th grade teacher, I see the clear need for character education. Students don't just need academic skills in order to be successful in the modern world. They are challenged to be academically proficient, socially savvy, and self confident all at the same time! This is a daunting task for any adult and even more challenging for a child. The 12 Cs offer students, parents, and teachers a framework for teaching necessary skills and positive self talk. The Adventures of Ooga and Zeeta uses relatable situations and provides helpful hints for discussions. The book is also well designed and broken into sections based on each C. This allows ample time to review each skill and makes it easy to reference a "C" if a situation arises in the classroom or at home. Green Glory is my favorite character because Green Glory models positive self talk. In each section he/she teaches kids how to build themselves up and make good choices. The author's "tools" and vocabulary can really impact kids and it is something that they can transfer between school and home. Finally, this book helps kids become more in tune with how they view themselves and gives kids the vocabulary to better articulate how they feel. I would highly recommend this book to students of all ages!

The concepts of Green Glory and Red Rant make sense to kids as two parts of their inner selves so that they feel as if they have
The author introduced her book to several classes of students in my school recently, reading the section on compassion followed with an activity that really resonated with them. After reading the entire book myself, I can see why. The concepts of Green Glory and Red Rant make sense to kids as two parts of their inner selves so that they feel as if they have a friend helping them to make the best choice. Each "C" character trait is presented in a short, easy to identify with story that can stand alone for a class lesson or prompt a conversation shared between parent and child. This is a go to resource anytime a child faces a difficult situation. The strong, positive message is just as applicable for adults as well as children and will help anyone working with or raising kids to become better role models. Highly recommended!

The Adventures of Ooga and Zeeta is a wonderful book that I read with my 2nd and 5th grade nephews. It has become a wonderful empowerment tool of personal development for them. It discusses the issues of confidence, courage, compassion, just to name a few. A great help in raising strong, kind, hardworking children who will hopefully, find their purpose and become good citizens of the world.
