The keyboard has a great feel to it and it is a nice touch that you are able to change the color and brightness of the keyboard backlight. I will admit that the case itself is quite heavy and should be used with care (aka don't open, close and/or turn the screen part of the case with much force) as the screen and keyboard parts will break and separate if it is handled aggressively. Basically, if you were to be using this for a child ( I would NOT buy this case for anyone under the age of 7 if they are rough with their belongings) who needs to have this type of case for an IPad being used for schoolwork, make sure that you explain to your child that they need to be gentle with the screen part of the case or it is fast to break apart, rendering the keyboard useless and the reason for having the case is null and void. Also, the shell scratches quite easily, so if this is something that bothers you, I wouldn't recommend this particular case unless you could find some kind of clear protector to go around the case (like a sticky protector or something).However, the customer service for the company who makes/distributes this case is wonderful! They responded to my request for a replacement case when my daughter's case split the screen attachment from the keyboard almost immediately and resolved the problem within a matter of days.
