Melamine Spoon Rest 9-1/2 inches Long (Rooster)

I have a beautiful "Yellow" kitchen with highlights of green and bold red. It's a late 60"s kitchen. I have put splashes of roosters here and there, such as a valance, rug, this signEarly Bird Farms Fresh Eggs Metal Sign, Rustic...OMSCand now this spoon rest. I have been looking for one for the last three years. I know this seems pricy but it is perfect for my needs. I needed a functional yet eye pleasing spoon rest. It is melamine and does NOT look cheap. The sides and bottom are white. So, across the room you see white. That would be my ONLY complaint. I have preferred the brown color to run along the sides of the spoon rest. I tried "resting" it on its side when not using it. That does not work. As the spoon rest is flared out at the rim, as all good spoon rests should be, it will not sit flat on it's side to show off the rooster.Of course when I am cooking I could care less what color the side is. All I see then is rooster. Of course if anyone figures out a way to get it to stand on its side when not in use please respond to this and tell me how.

I like the spoon rest. The colors are as pictured and it is a good size. Wish the chicken was centered differently.

Seems to be plastic. Love it. Had a ceramic spoon holder. Our wooden hot plate fell and broke the ceramic one. This one had one fall and it didn't break it.

Looks nice. Solid. only the picture didn't show that it is white underneath.
