Replaced my iPhone 11 for this!
This was such value for money, I just had to have it and treat myself early for Christmas! Beautifully presented, comes with a clear slightly frosted gel but matte case and a prefitted screen protector. For some reason I opted for the rose gold beach colour, instead of my favourite blue. I'm not disappointed, the build quality and design colour are fantastic! I replaced my iPhone 11 which I passed down to my 13 year old daughter whom was most grateful for an upgrade! I have had many handsets over the years, I buy 3/4 a year as I get bored quickly, including a few from other Chinese manufacturers, but this was the first time I have tried Xiaomi as been watching/admiring their phones for years. The specs, build quality and overall performance on this device are incredible! I shall break it down to help your buying decision.Design and Build are superb, I find the handset is lighter than my iPhone, even though factuly it is more weight, it feels light, and even with my small hands I find it easier to hold, type and navigate the large screen.Screen is an IPS LCD 6.7" beast and with right settings I find is bright, sharp and vibrant! The 120 Hz refresh rate is awesome, so fast, response and awesome for playing games, social media and movies, a joy to use! Who needs OLED or AMOLED!Chip power is excellent for gaming and with 6 GB ram it can handle any game you throw at it and you can have most on max graphic settings.MUI 12 software has taken some getting used to from having an Apple, but I love the control centre and mass choice of settings available, like muting distractions when gaming etc.The choice of themes, wallpapers, tones pre loaded are great quality, as well as other smart features, I haven't found that much bloatware and only had a few ads on the built in security when downloading games from play store when screening, but now disabled.Battery life I haven't had much time to try out saver and ultra saver which seem to give it ample juice to play games for an age, even with max brightness and set to 120 Hz screen rate! The wired 33 watt fast charger takes around an hour to charge from flat to full, you can optimise settings to speed up the charge to lessen the time.5G I don't have in my area yet, but 4G connectivity is excellent, strong and stable.Wireless connectivity is also excellent. I did struggle to connect my Mi30 wifi earbuds from the shortcut swipe down control centre, and have to pair from Bluetooth area each time, but once connected the sound quality is excellent!External stereo speakers are impressive too, as is call quality.I can't rate this handset highly enough, unfortunately I just missed out when it was on special offer at £199 but got it for £228 which for a 5G future proof smartphone is Ace!Even if you get it like me to last 12 mths until the upgraded Xiaomi handsets are released, this is a beast of a bargain, too much to miss out on, hench why I ditched my new iPhone 11, and moved back to Android, so glad I did, love this phone, love it's smart features, menu options, specs, screen, battery life, gaming, it's so much bang for your buck here, you can't go wrong!

An enjoyable experience for not a lot of money!
Have been a Samsung fan for a number of years now but as I wanted to purchase a phone outright their prices were just way too much for me, so anyway I was just having a browse through phones as you do when I stumbled across this one. Read lots of favourable reviews, saw lots of video reviews and thought to myself yeah go for it and at just £199 surely has to be a bargain. So just a week in and so far so good. Yes it is a large phone and yes it is a bit on the heavy side but as I have large hands it's not a problem for me. Nice clear screen, decent stereo speakers, sd card slot, headphone jack, 33w fast charger what's not to like at this price point? Camera and videos all appear to be just fine to me. OK the name Xiaomi didn't mean a thing to me but I checked them out and they seem to be a reputable company. I know it's early days but so far I'm really enjoying the experience, hope you do too.**Update 5 months on. This phone for the money is a real game changer, I love it!!! Charges in no time at all so that side of it is very impressive. Photos and videos are very pleasing. Everything on the phone still works as quick as the day I bought it and it has now also been updated to Android 11 and Miui 12. As I'd never heard of the Xiaomi brand before I bought this I was a little bit sceptical but I needn't have worried as it really is a darned good phone. Why waste mega bucks on the so called 'premium' brand phones when you can have this one at a fraction of the cost? It does all I want and more. Buy it, you will not be disappointed.**update 1 year on.....cannot believe I have had this phone for a year now. Here's the thing it runs as well as the 1st day I bought it. There are no cons whatsoever, all pros so far. Have updated it everytime a new update has been available with no issues whatsoever. I paid £199 in December 2020 and that price has obviously fluctuated in that year but I genuinely feel whatever the price is it's worth every penny especially when you see some of the extortionate prices the bigger brands are charging. It's Xiaomi all the way for me from here on in.

Like Mary Poppins, practically perfect in every way
Last two-year chase for a mobile that ticked all my boxes is finally over. Battery, audio issues, signal strength, etc. The search is done. I found it! I held the nerve and did not write this review until every aspect was considered. I can now confirm. I use the mobile from morning to night (9am-9pm) and it uses well under 25% of battery. I come home with a whopping 75% left. Volume controls work, they work! I have had issues with previous phones, that is why it had become a growing concern. No need for a USB adoptor as in my previous one. At home, full bar signal icon on 5 and 4G. I have not been able to hold the excitement. The only flaw if I had to mention one I was aware of before I bought it... Space for either two SIM Cards or one SIM card+MicroSD Memory card even if it is advertised as two sim card phone but this is a bit misleading. Still, I knew before hand and it was not a disappointment, more of a compromise decision. The price was a bit beyond my budgeting aspirations, but immensily more affordable than similar phones with same features. Screen is on the large side of things. Response to apps is fast. Face n and fingerprint recognition are smooth and trust. Would I recommend this to anyone that can afford it? Hell, yes. And a resounding yes to that. Without hesitation.

Very fast! Value for money.
Good quality phone. Fast. Good camera. Extremely fast charging and fingerprint read. However noticed some glitches on the second day of using already. Screen froze for a while several times. Other than that it is a grwat phome for its price.

Amazing Phone
I bought this phone to replace a three-year-old Samsung Galaxy Note 8, which at the time was a flagship. This phone at £206 (there was a voucher code) represents an amazing advancement in terms of features for the cost. It has a larger screen, it's not OLED but it does have 120hz, it has a camera with higher megapixels, and the native camera software returns really really good results, it runs everything seamlessly, and I've noticed that it's much more thermally efficient, as it never gets hot when running games (even with high quality graphics). The battery lasts forever (comparatively speaking), and charges up incredibly quickly. I'm really enjoying having a flat-screen again, as the curved display on the Samsung was always a bit annoying if you needed to place something at an edge.In terms of negatives, the only thing that this phone would benefit from is OIS however this is only noticeable when filming video, you just need to remember to keep a steady hand. I did also remove quite a lot of preloaded bloatware, but there's plenty of advice online around what can go, and what must stay.Couple of extra points - It comes with a case in the box, and a preinstalled screen protector.I'm really impressed and would recommend this to anyone (as long as they've got some fairly big hands!)

Amazing phone for price point
Finally made the switch from Apple to Android after I realised i really WAS being ripped off for a sub-par piece of tech that would eventually stop updating. Best decision I ever made. This Xioami's edge to edge display is bigger than the whole of my last phone and is crystal clear. You even have the option for a 120hz refresh rate which looks stunning. Battery life is INCREDIBLE and on an average day at college before lockdown, I would get home with around 70-80% left after streaming music on the drive there and back and using it for online classes. I have the rose gold beach colour and pictures don't do it justice. It's quite hefty with a large camera meaning it won't lay flat on surfaces, but this doesn't particularly bother me. If you're hesitating, this is your sign to buy it!!

A phone with the spec of a top price phone at a third of the price
I had the MI10 lite for 2 months now and I am super happy with it. I bought it as my more expensive Honour 9 I had for 3 years suddenly started switching itself off and couldn't be repaired. I had read reviews for the MI and they seemed so good almost too good. However, they weren't!Camera:The camera 's phone is really good ( see attached pics). It takes some very good pictures particulary in bright light. The Zoom is quite good and when taking pictures using it, initally they look blurry but then they appear sharp.Bloatware and Google appsThere are very few apps that can't be removed and the phone is fully integrated with Google apps. The phone comes also with other browsers such as Opera and MI that can be removed.Screenthis phone has a big screen that's sharp and pleasant on the eye. The screen's brightness can be adjusted to suit all preferences. Watching videos is really enjoyable for those who like doing so.AudioThe phone's speaker is good and music playback and whatsapp quality calls on loudspeaker is really good. Ordinary calls quality is very good but slighlty less loud and clear when placing the speaker on loudspeaker.Batterythe phone charges really quickly and the battery lasts easily a day when making whatsapp calls, browsing or playing music. I don't play videogames so I can't comment on battery's life when playing a lot of videos.Headphones, screen protector and casethis model , as clearly stated in the description, does not come with headphones but it has a jack audio so I was able to plug my old phone headphones and they work fine. It also comes with a light screen protector and soft case I am quite happy with. I am careful wiht my phones so don't tend to drop them and I find hard scren protectors affect the screen's responsiveness.Fingerprint and face recognitionThe fingerprint recogniton works well even if it's on the side. It is only to unlock the phone not to lock it. More than one cna be stored and if someone whose print is not stored uses several times the phone, it will remove the stored print though. Facerecongiton works well but it doesn't unlock the phone straighaway, once the face is recognised I need to swipe up at times.Storage, Dual simthe phone has 64 Gb memory that's sufficent for me. It can be expaned or a second SIM can be installed. It comes with a key to open the sim tray.

Stunning piece of kit for the price.
It's a mid-ranged phone for a budget phone price. Yes there is some bloatware installed and you get ads but the bloatware can be uninstalled and most of the ads can be disabled within the settings. Those that I can't seem to turn off aren't all that intrusive as they are in apps that you don't access all the time. The screen does have a little bit of light-bleed but its expected for a phone in this price range. Having an amoled screen would be much better but would increase the price too much. It's snappy, looks great and the screen is very responsive. The face-to-unlock is quick and the fingerprint sensor is accurate. I've had no glitches or problems with anything I've installed. I only wish the back of the phone had a bit of texture to it to aid grip. Overall I'm very pleased with it so far.
