Does not expand/inflate.
Bought one from Costco, did not inflate/expand fully so bought another one assuming we got a dud or old stock or something. This one does not expand/inflate either. Parts are curled under, lumpy and if you reach under to feel the foam it's hard as a rock. Same as the other one.Photos are from a day of sitting in our guest room, but the first one we bought we've had for over a week in another room (waiting for the return pickup guys) and it's very similar. It half expands then just stops.I have not found another review with this issue so I wanted to put out my balance. I have nothing against Novafoam. We bought because of a hotel we stayed at a couple months ago. I don't know if this is just how things go, but being the only people and getting 2 with the same issue seems unlikely.

Too soft a top layer that you sink into, making it warm
For side sleepers that don't mind sinking in and the warmth from that, this may be fine, but for me, not so much. I got mine from another store. It is going back. Sinking in causes it to be very warm. I don't think it is the foam, just the fact that it is wrapping around you. I am only 130 pounds, but still felt was bothered by the heat. It was comfortable, except for the heat, and I slept well on it. Moving around on it takes a little effort once you are settled in but the top layer is just not dense enough for a stomach sleeper and maybe not for a back sleeper either and especially not if you don't like to sleep warm.

Other than one design flaw, I love this mattress...
I purchased this mattress after reading the review in Consumer Reports and when it went on sale at Costco (I had to purchase a Costco membership for $55 in order to be able to purchase this mattress). I was replacing a conventional spring mattress and box spring that was 17 years old. I got a queen size and was able to get it out of the box and on my platform alone (not that it was easy) and I'm a 58 year old woman. This mattress was so comfortable from the get-go -- not too hard, not too soft, just right! In the heat of the summer, I found it to be hotter than my old mattress despite my central air conditioning, but at the suggestion of a friend I purchased a bamboo mattress pad for $100 and that solved the problem. I have two herniated discs in my back from an injury in my 20s and I find it very comfortable. It's a very thick mattress so it is a little higher than I would have liked (I purchased a metal platform); however, I like that I can store four large storage bins underneath so I am living with the height. However, the one design flaw that irritates me is that there is no reinforcement along the edge of the mattress. As a result, when I sit on the edge of the bed to put socks on, I slide off. I also fell out of bed once when I turned over close to the edge (this never happened with my old mattress). If I shared my queen bed with another person, that would be a problem; I just sleep in the middle now. To respond to some questions I saw posted here, this mattress is fine for back or side sleepers (I am both). Consumer Reports tested it with a roller that simulated 8 years of wear and found no change in the integrity of the mattress. It also found it was a good choice for both back and side sleepers. I could have returned the mattress (Costco would have picked it up and I would not have had to get it back in the box, an impossibility anyway), but I decided to keep it because it was very comfortable and a great buy for the money (I paid $650 plus the $55 membership plus $100 for the platform and the $100 for the bamboo mattress pad). The only other problem for me, and this has nothing to do with the mattress, is that the brackets I bought for the platform to attach my 30-year-old brass head- and foot-boards don't allow me to adequately attach the boards. I tried a mattress when at a furniture outlet in Gardner, MA that was even more comfortable, but it was also 3 times the price, so this is a great mattress for the money.

We bought this mattress from Costco because of the good ratings it was given by Consumer Reports
We bought this mattress from Costco because of the good ratings it was given by Consumer Reports. It was comfortable for a couple of months, but then started to sag down each side where we sleep. We had a very study box springs for it, so that wasn't the problem. I wish I would have read the reviews for this mattress before we bought it. I read them when we started having problems, and it seems a lot of people have the same issue. If I had bought it from a store we would have returned it, but it was too much trouble so we ended up buying a different mattress. We gave it to our teenage son, who doesn't mind it.
