VIVEsole Budin Splint Toe Straightener (Pair) - Hammer Toe Corrector

My bunion has worsened over the years and caused a hammertoe. In fact if i don't wear these correctors my large toe actually crosses under the hammertoe. Most bunion correctors spread the toes which really hurts after a while and which tends to push the hammertoe up even more. I bought several different types of bunion correctors over these past two years and this is the only type that works for both. Not ideal perhaps but pulling the hammertoe down does keep the bunion from crossing underneath. I've tried gel and sock spreaders and they all hurt after a while. The splint type of corrector is really hard to position just right so doesn't help me I find. Putting on this type of corrector has become a natural part of my routine: on before socks in the morning. I do take it off at night because the elastic over the hammertoe has to be tight enough to keep the toe pulled down and at the end of the day i can see the ridge and am concerned that it might constrict blood flow a little. But i find now that my foot is uncomfortable at night without it on and i'm looking for something a bit gentler for overnight. I suspect that i'm going to end up giving my toes a breather in the evening and then donning this corrector again for overnight. I really am more comfortable now with the corrector on than without. I wear it for a couple of days and then throw it in the washer (cold or warm). Then i air dry. I can reuse multiple times. I only throw away if i find the elastic has become loosened and, instead of keeping my toe down, it relaxes and no longer pulls down. This corrector works underneath all types of shoes. With dress sandals I make a choice: wear it and see the corrector peeping around my toes just a bit, or leave it off and see my big toe and second toe all crossed over.

I had 2 adjacent toes that had curled down (hammer toe), but they both could still be flexed some. I followed the guidance of another reviewer and used these 'religiously' for a year or more. Details: Find the best tension for you (pull the straps through the slots in the bottom). Too tight and they hurt, too loose and they don't help correct the issue. I put them on each morning, and took them off when they started to hurt, or when I went to bed. I did miss some days. They do get smelly, so switch off, and put them through the laundry. Overall: Before I used these, I was having pain from the toe tips pressing down. ... 1 to 1.5 years later - Now I haven't used them for months and no pain at all! :-) That sounds like a long time, but: Once I got used to them, it helped reduce, then eliminate the pain from early on. It kept me from having surgery.

No bueño! It does nothing for the big toe and the pad moves all over the place. Additionally, the strap that tightens is long and gets in the way, but one shouldn’t cut it down because then you can’t tighten the strap. Get the silicone inserts that go between the toe. It also made my toe hurt and hindered my walking. Was very disappointed.

these helped my foot with a toe that has a callous blood vessel. I used them to cushion the ball of my foot and help hold my toe in place. It receives some pain but not all. I can add they wash well when forgotten in a sock. It still works will. After about 6 months of wear it needs to be replaced.

I know they’re necessary sometimes, but very uncomfortable to wear for extended time. It feels as if there’s a bump in the shoe because it ends right below the ball of the foot. They should extend the length down to the heal so that is more like an insole with to loops.

Works perfectly for hammer toe correction. I sprained my toe and this also help the toe to stay in place and protects from over extending it causing turf toe.

I have purchased budin toe splints in the past, various brands. This brand seems a lower quality. The toe loops on each pad broke after only less than ten uses. I gently hand wash them after every two uses. These retain foot odor after every use even if I wore them for light use for a few hours. I would not buy this brand again.

Effective but hard to wear in a shoe. I used it after work instead.
