LINKYO Compatible Toner Cartridge Replacement for Brother TN450 TN-450 TN420 (Black, High Yield, 2-Pack)

These third party toner always work and prints out good quality inks, saves a bunch than buying OEM toners.

These are worth their modest cost. I've reordered them multiple times.

Edit: As an ink cartridge it does a fine job, after I figured out how to make it work in my printer. The ad did not describe how to use this, thus my original review below. Perhaps I should have known this, but I don’t believe it is common knowledge, that this cartridge fits into a carrier which then fits into the printer. I have spoken to several other people and they did not know this either. Orig review: This review should be "0" and it is not for the product but for the seller's description for this toner. I bought this 8 months ago, because I have the Brother HL-2240 Laser Printer, so that I would be prepared for when I would eventually run out of toner. Imagine my surprise when I needed to change out the cart only to find it was way too small. The toner cart on the left is the original one from the functioning printer. The one on the right is the Linkyo "Suitable for use in Brother HL-2240" cartridge I bought. But now it is 8+ months later and I can't use it and I can't return/exchange it. Bummer. Now if you're sure this cart will work for you, and you'd like to read an actual review of the product, go read reviews from users who have had the good fortune of having this cartridge actually being suitable for their printer. I love that this a 'drop in' replacement for the more expensive Brother items.

I replaced the Linkyo toner after 2,713 pages. Considering 2600 is the advertised yield, I think this cartridge did very well. I did have a couple "Toner is low" messages pop up on the monitor. However resetting the cartridge through the on line printer interface got another couple hundred sheets printed. UPDATE: 7/12/2016 Adding additional info after testing over time. I replaced the TN450 cartridge with another LINKYO compatible on 11/5/15. AT that time my printer had printed 17837 pages. Next toner replacement was on 3/1/2016 and the printed page count was at 20550. So the LINKYO toner produced 2713 pages. Next toner replacement was on 7/12/16. Again put a new LINKYO toner in the printer and documented page count at 24290. So this time I got 3740 pages from the toner cartridge. I did deal with 3 "error" messages over this time indicating the toner needed replacement however I reset the machine 3 times using the following method (found by Googling "reset toner brother 2270"): [...] If your TN2230 – TN2250 toner counter on your HL-2130 HL-2240D HL-2250DN or HL-2270DW doesn’t reset when you install the cartridge, you may wish to try this procedure. Open the front cover and leave open while completing the following steps. Turn the printer off. Hold the ‘go’ button (or “start’ button) while turning the printer on. All panel lights should be on. Release the ‘go’ button (or “start’ button). Press the ‘go’ button (or “start’ button) 2 times. Pause. All panel lights should be on. Press the ‘go’ button (or “start’ button) 5 times. The toner light should be off (the error light may be flashing). The paper light should be on or flashing. Close the cover. The ready light should be the only light on. Note: This procedure has been tested on the HL2130 HL2240D HL2250DN and HL2270DW printer but may work on other printers using the TN2250 toner. I just now noticed print fading so after 3740 pages its time to replace the toner.

Solid printing at a good price.

Bought for my Brother printer. Prints fine at a fraction of official Brother toner.

And that was my primary concern. A lot of the complaints I see on cartridges that aren't name brand is that they say they fit something but don't. I've only recently installed this and so far it is working with no noticeable problems so far which I think is worth four stars because it's significantly less expensive than the name brand version. If it prints as long as the regular cartridge, I will probably come back and update this rating to five stars. It's just too early to say right now. EDIT: I have re-ordered these cartridges after a positive experience the first time around. As you can see, it's been FOUR years since I ordered a pack of two cartridges. I'd say I'm pretty happy with getting TWO years per cartridge. I haven't done metrics but I do a fair amount of printing as a casual user for personal reasons. I'm sure someone who prints a lot, perhaps professionally, will not get quite as much usage but I definitely feel as if I got a lot of quality printing out of these cartridges to easily justify their much lower cost versus the name brand.
