DesignLine Plus Stainless Steel Cordless Kettle, TWK4P439GB, Copper

Arrived quickly and well packaged. I LOVE this kettle, very, very stylish, the copper matches my windowsill and caddies! It boils quickly, has a large capacity, a water level indicator and it's quiet. The lead is a good length too. Great value.

This kettle was a replacement for another model - variable temperature Kettle (Bosch Skyline) which failed to switch off after 2 months use. I decided to go back to basics as kettle which looks good in the kitchen, functions well witthout the complexity of too many options. The kettle boils rapidly and pours very accurately without dripping. The body is mainly stainless steel which I like compared to some of the other Bosch models which are plastic. Stainless steel looks so much better. I would say noise wise its about average for a kettle, not too noisy but not the quietest kettle you can buy. So far very impressed and good value for a well known brand. The only thing I would recommend to Bosch is why not make the illuminated so you can see the water leave when bolling.

This is a good looking and well made kettle that pours well. It has a metal screening mesh in its built-in filter, which in my opinion is better than having the flimsier plastic types that are sometimes shipped. as the title to my review suggests, it is not without niggles. The key niggle for me is the lid opening mechanism. It opens to c. 45degrees, and to open it more fully (to c.90 degrees) you need to do so manually, which feels less than optimum when dealing with hot steam and looking to refill from a filter or tap. My kettle also has a strange rattling sound part way through the boiling process; this may go away with use, as it literally kicks in at the same point and then disappears after c.10 seconds, but currently I find find it a tad disconcerting. A third niggle was the pronounced metallic/oily scent that emanated from the kettle for the first few boilings, even after cleaning it as directed by Bosch. It did not affect the taste of the tea - or at least, not noticeably - but it did affect my sense of pleasure in using it for the first few days. The scent has fully gone with use, and apart from the lid opening niggle I am now enjoying the kettle. The build quality appears to be very good, and so long as the lid mechanism holds up then I can see this product being a robust one. (Sprung lids appear to be a key point of weakness in general electronic kettle design when they are used). A last thing to note is that the kettle is averagely loud in my experience, boils at the expected rate, does not sustain a rolling boil for very long, and while the fill display panel on the side of the kettle does the job, it is not all that easy to read the fill level as you fill as it is not illuminated.

Lovely looking toaster to match my copper and black kitchen. Feels great quality. Fast to boil. Easy to clean. Looks fabulous with the matching toaster. Great value as got in sale.

Bosch quality as one would hope for. Good design, efficient, relatively quiet and fast boiling. Feels good in the hand, balanced, sturdy and well made, so for me it is excellent value for money. Oh and a nice red led light when switched on. Double sided water level display. Well done Bosch. Sehr gut.

I bought this kettle as a replacement when our original Bosch kettle finally gave up after years of loyal service. We had been very pleased with the design and performance. We had no hesitation in choosing the same model. Bosch had made some minor improvements to the design from the original and we are extremely pleased to recommend the product.

I bought this kettle nearly 3 years ago. It is strong and sturdy and boils quickly, isn't too loud. It just decided to stop working. I was disappointed because I was buying for the name. Next time I will buy a name that specializes in kettles.

I like a lot about this kettle. I mean, it's a kettle! And it does exactly what it is supposed to do. No bells or whistles - temperature gauges or keep warm buttons! But if you don't need all that stuff, this is good. Other reviewers have said that that the push button to open the lid is great, but it does sort of only open half way, which seems like a bit of a design fault. So knocking a star off for that! But it boils pretty fast, isn't crazy loud, and looks smart. On the 'looks', like all stainless steel stuff, you do have to keep it clean as marks show up pretty easily, but that doesn't bother me much. It doesn't seem to drip or anything when pouring, which my old one did, so works well in that regard too.
