Cooks evenly, easy cleanup, set up
In 2006 I received the older version of this Ronco rotisserie and used it frequently for nearly 13yrs so far as cooking every holiday Turkey, Beef Roast and too many Roasted Chickens to count. All were spectacular, moist juicy and all presented beautifully! Since then I had been unable to reproduce the spectacular results this unit created, thus my new unit arrived a few days ago. I cooked an 8lb Turkey breast to succulent (Basting it with herbed butter early during the cooking process) then apple juice thereafter to succulent perfection. Just to mention I usually place the unit on a small table outside on our deck to save inside counter space and it works nicely. It’s simple and easy to use”Just set it and forget it” you tube has helpful videos for first time users. The clean up can be a be detailed, unlike my last unit this one has a “detachable heat shield” this really helps with clean up. I covered mine with foil along with the bottom of drip pan. Front glass is detachable and was easily cleaned with Dawn Detergent and a Scrub Daddy. Same for the inside. I am planning to have this model for many years. Yes as some reviewers mentioned it does turn more slowly, the meat was still incredibly moist! It is a big large to store. I saw more compact models available but decided to stick with the original sized unit. I must confess this is my success for rave Turkey and meat reviews from our family and friends. Give it a try.

Easy to use, brings back fond memories from my first Showtime!
I had the original Showtime and it lasted at least 10+ years with great results. After the motor gave out, I just started going old school and using my oven. Many years later, I wondered if they were still selling it, and yes, they have the original or the modern oven. I read the reviews, and the modern one got great reviews, so I bought it. It was super familiar from the original, and I was easily able to get started after all these years. My first use was rotisserie chicken quarters. later that evening I made garlic ribeye steak, and they all came out fantastic. I suggest having a meat thermometer handy to ensure you don't under or over cook your fook. There's no temperature setting - just on for rotisserie, or stop for searing which is awesome to get the outside of whatever your cooking nice and crispy. I should have bought a replace a long time ago, and I forgot how cool and easy it was to make awesome meals. The only drawbacks TBH is the basket is a little on the small side, so if you'll have to plan out your cooking time if you're going to make larger meals. It's great for a family of 4 but if you're going to have a party-size, you'll need to repeat the process as you don't want to stuff the basked or load up the rack.

I love this rotisserie oven.
Even though this oven rotates slower than the older version, it still grills great delicious food. I pat dry the chicken skin with paper towels & rub a little olive oil all over & season with salt & pepper. I even put a touch of salt under the skin to render out more fat off the chicken. I think this newer version is just as good as the old one in terms of finished delicious food. Turkey thighs are great in the included basket, you don't even know your eating turkey, it taste so good in just under one hour. I keep my oven outside on my lanai on a TV tray with a round plastic tablecloth on top to keep the dust & dirt off. I highly recommend this rotisserie oven.

Three Challenges But Fun To Use Once Overcome
After my experiences, I have identified three challenges that users need to be aware of. The first is that the device’s motor has very low torque. As a result, once you mount your meat, you may have to gently reposition the mounting forks so they are positioned just right since if you don’t, it won’t spin. The second is that the included basket for inserting such items as salmon steaks is very poorly designed. It should have been equipped with some kind of locking mechanism so it doesn’t come apart while spinning. I inserted pork ribs and they fell out of the basket during spinning so I immediately came up with a fix. I used the basket since I was unable to find the special basket for baking ribs anywhere as well as one of the hook types that is cited for the directions of the special ribs basket. Tie the basket parts together with baking strings (some are provided in the box) to keep the basket closed during baking. Be sure to tuck any loose parts of string when done or cut off the ends to avoid them catching on fire when they contact the device’s heating elements located in the back. Also, due to the salmon sticking to the basket when baked, I would recommend either coconut or olive spray that you can purchase through Amazon and a healthier alternative to Pam spray, to be applied to the basket parts before placing any meat inside to aid in its cleaning after soaking in dish detergent and water. The third challenge involves baking roasts. You may be required what I was forced to do recently to cut the roast into smaller pieces placed on the rods since it wouldn’t spin due to the roast being unevenly balanced on the rods. If possible, buy a perfectly round roast so the unbalancing challenge is not encountered. Other than that, it is fun to use this small rotisserie, but note that the recommended baking times listed in its accompanying booklet may be longer or shorter based on individual taste.

Everything I was hoping it was going to be.
We’ve cooked pork loin roast, whole chicken, bone in 10 pound ham, pork chops & salmon steaks in this machine, and everything came out perfect. I am impressed with the size and weight of the oven. It seems to be well constructed, and is very easy to clean. Would definitely recommend this product!

This version does produce the same excellent taste to meats cooked in it as the original version.
This Rincon is a good second edition of the oven. The build quality of the original is slightly better than this version.

Really disappointed.
This is absolutely the first time I have ever received a product from Amazon that has been used and returned. The foam packing was all crumbled, there were scratches and worn places on the inside of the oven and some of the coating had been worn or scratched off of several of the pieces, and it hadn't even been cleaned properly. I can't send it back in the same box. So, I am going to see if it works properly. I am really, really disappointed. What a sad introduction to a Ronco product! also cannot change the settings. Will not move from roast either to no heat or sear!

Cook two birds at once in the large oven
My daughter has a smaller one. It is far better. The large one takes a lot longer and the chicken was dry in the breast meat yet undercooked in the leg portion.
