Healthometer Physician Beam Scale -77519 - Model 402LB - Each

Wonderful and accurate! Have thrown out several digital ones that keep stating the same weight (down to the tenths) every day because it won't change. This one picks up even a half a pound difference. Love, love, love it! So easy to assemble too! four nuts and a hook that's all! Also don't let the box fool you as it says 402LB... but that is the stock number and it is only 38 pounds.

This scale is exactly as described. Read the instructions and assembly will be easy.

The main thing you want from a scale is accuracy, and this one definitely meets that requirement. Two negatives: The height measurement bar is very difficult to raise and lower, requiring a considerable amount of force. I tried a silicone lubricant and 3 in 1 oil. No luck. The other thing is that our old Healthometer scale had a little bubble (like a level) and a little slide bar that made it easy to zero out. This new one requires a tiny flat head screwdriver. It is difficult to find the notch on the screw because it is black and recessed. Then you have to guess when you've turned it enough and likely do it a couple more times before it zeroes out. Not user friendly.

Our previous scale was unreliable - you could shift your weight, or get off and then on again and the measurements could vary by as much as 10 lbs. Saw too many similar complaints about new digital models - but this "ancient" triple-beam-balance mechanical scale is based on the same technology we used in chemistry labs when I was a kid. Weighed myself, got off, drank a glass of water, got back on ..... and I'd gained 1/4 lb. - the weight of the water. That's why this is what the doctor had in HIS office for many, many years. Finally, we can trust the bathroom scale to be accurate and ... faithful, as painful as that sometimes turns out to be!

I am an 85, very small male that put the scale together by myself using 2 upright folding chairs, easily with no issues. Just followed pictures and instructions but adding the 2nd chair to rest the long end on as I positioned the long backbone with its 4 bolts into the receiving footers bolt holes, it standing vertical as shown in the instructions, nuts and eashers previously removed, and to sit on during assembly. I had no problem securing the hook in the long rod's eye hole in this connected position between the 2 chairs. The scale is beautiful, all metal, and required no balance adjustments. Perect. I placed the scale in my clothes closet away from visitors (or their children) jumping on the footer and causing the head with its suspended weights from banging. This is not a toy and should last a long time w/o any adjustments if handled properly.

We have used this for a week. So far it’s not balancing the same way twice. We adjusted it. Get on scale. Get off scale. Won’t balance to zero. Adjust, weigh, get off and still not right. It is a good size and was easy to put together but unless it gives accurate weight, it isn’t useful.
