Sensational Janine ( Josefine Mutzenbacher ) [ Blu-Ray, Reg.A/B/C Import - Germany ]

I thought this movie was going to be a lot racier than it actually was. There have been a bunch of films based on the book over the years, my favorites being two triple X titles from the 70s. I expected this to be in the same vein, but the movie has little nudity and no explicit sex scenes. Instead, it tries to be titillating on the one hand, and preachy and politically correct on the other. Josefine is depicted as the victim of sexual abuse, something which was not part of the original book. The book (an autobiography) was a revelation during its time because its author was sexually liberated and completely unashamed about it, at a time when women's liberation had barely begun. If you're interested in this story, I would recommend the book or almost any other movie except this one.
