Perfect replacement. Lots of work to replace.
This part worked perfectly as a replacement cartridge for the "cold" side of our Jado 831/003 "Glance" bathroom faucet. Actual replacement process was much more difficult than I expected. Our faucet was installed in 2005 and required removal of the cold valve assembly and a lot of force to remove the old cartridge from the valve body. (I used a bench clamp to assist.) Once installed, its been working very well.

to my disappointment, the extension is much bigger than the stem
I was looking for a cartridge for a JADO faucet. I managed to find a service document and found this part number. However, I compared this item with the old one, it is clear that the old one has a longer stem. I continued to look but just couldn't find the right kind. Out of desperation, I ordered this one and a 'stem extension' from Amazon. After I got the items, to my disappointment, the extension is much bigger than the stem. (You can't tell the size from the picture of the extender). Fortunately, I noticed that it is easy to take the cartridge apart. So, I cleaned the old stem (CLR works great) and swapped the stems. It worked! If you plan to do the same, put some plumber's lubricant on the old stem before you put it in the new cartridge.

Works in Jado Faucet
Used in a Jado "Glance" faucet. Fit fine and worked well. Like all ceramic valves if you get sand in your water they will begin to leak from sand scratching the seal area. Also later found equivalent on e-bay for 1/4 cost. Both American Standard and equivalent were made in China.

Dripped after 3 months
The valve was the correct part and was easy to install. Started to drip after 3 months of use. For a $43 valve, this is not acceptable. I am kind of stuck, I will need to buy anther or replace the whole faucet. Will Buy from Home Depot or local store where I can return defective items like this.

Perfect replacement dimensions and appears to be quality machining but it leaks. Not drip, drip, drip but it weeps, leaving the spout always wet.
