What is RFID? RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) technology is commonly used to store sensitive data in many of today's portable identification cards, such as most credit/dbit cards and all US passports issued since 2006. The benefit of this technology over barcode scanning is that RFID devices will work within a few feet (up to 20 feet for high-frequency devices) of a scanner and does not have to be positioned perfectly in order to work. RFID and Identity Theft Unless properly shielded, card-based data is readily available when any active reader or scanner is in range. Counterfeit readers aren't too difficult to build and many current smartphones are equipped with NFC technology which can also read the data on these cards. As the use of this technology grows, so does the risk of electronic pick pocketing by identity thieves. Privacy and Security Our wallet is specifically designed to block these unauthorized scans without sacrificing style and comfort. It works by reflecting RFID frequency signals between 10 MHz - 3000 MHhz. This shields information stored on many of today's cards issued by banks, governments and other institutions such as Credit or Debit cards, Driver's licenses, Hunting and fishing licenses, Access / security passes, etc. OUR GUARANTEE You are our #1 priority! If you are not happy with your purchase, let us know and we will do what we can to make it right.
