I saw online to get rid of ghost shadow to actually write over the old a bit, or scribble a bit. Then use a magic eraser or like it to dampen and wipe. It actually helped. As I was left with a ghost shadow on a chalkboard. I needed it to temporarily label bottles. And that works great.

The color is so vibrant and its very easy to use!!

I'm using these for glass storage containers (Sugar, Flour, etc.). So far, they have held up great and I haven't had to reapply the text. I've had the same labels on for about 2 months now, and they get a pretty good amount of use. Very minimal smearing from frequent use. The text is a little tricky to remove altogether, but I noticed that wetting a paper towel seemed to do the trick for me (maybe the chalk wasn't completely dry, not sure, but it came right off). I'm not too concerned about it, as I plan to simply replace the chalk decals if I run across this issue in the future. I can see where this may be an issue when using on a chalkboard or chalkboard wall. I'm not using this pen for a chalkboard, so for stickers, I couldn't be happier with the sharp clean lines (almost like white marker). A+

The media could not be loaded.  Used these chalk markers for my stocking tags! Good thing I messed up a few times and they came right off with a baby wipe. Wipe dry fully before writing on your surface.

The chalk is very very difficult to erase so kind of beats the purpose or getting chalk over paint

I have tried these pens on three different surfaces based on the reviews I read, that way I wouldn't ruin an expensive chalkboard.I am happy to say that this cleaned off beautifully from all 3. One was some table name plates, one was a chalkboard, and the other was black mactac paper for a wall.They also drew perfectly on all 3 surfaces.If you're looking for a white chalkboard marker, look no futher. Buy these.
